parafashion's Issues

Core dumped issue

@nicopietroni
I always get Aborted (core dumped) when I run parafashion command

OS : 5.19.0-46-generic #47~22.04.1-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed Jun 21 15:35:31 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I ran the command on Figures_Pattern_Making/Figures/fig_1_tease/flawless.obj

I also ran on a 3D scan of person wearing a dress. I get the same issue.

Failure to reproduce the results of the paper

Thank you for making your code and data public!

I'm struggling to reproduce the results in the paper. My environment is Windows 10 WSL.
For example, I ran the program with data of Fig. 1.

  • ./parafashion Figures_Pattern_Making/Figures/fig_1_teaser/flawless.obj
  • Then press 'Batch Process' button.

I attached the screenshot after the above process.
It looks very different from Fig. 1.
How can I get the similar pattern as Fig. 1?

Remove unwanted cutting lines

Hi,
I am currently conducting research on the cutting lines of 3D scanning garment, and your method is excellent. However, I encountered an issue when using your method for cutting.
Here is an example of cutting lines generated using your algorithm. Some lines appear rather unusual, such as the cutting line indicated by the green circle. In actual garment production, we do not want such cutting lines. Is there an operational method available to remove the unwanted cutting lines based on the already generated cutting lines?

Menu operations

Could you please give the order of menu operations in order to generate the output?
I use the parafashion/data/dress/input.ply as input.

Quite close but not yet there

Hi,
one of my job is to make sewing pattern for arbitrary 3d shapes (usualy cartoon heads).
Often I search arxiv papers to see if someone was able to create an algorithm to flatten a 3d model to a 2d pattern as I would manually do myself.
Of all the methods I've seen, yours is the best one so far.
Sadly It can be used
professionally yet.

Here is an example of your algorithm used to flatten a 3D object, the red lines are the cutting lines where I would place the seams manually.
I explicity set the tension to 0 to see all the possibile cutting lines.
The thing I don't understand is:
I usually put the seams where there is a sudden change in the curvature, aka where there are sharp edges, but your algorithm seams to ignore that in the proximity of the nose, while for the eye and the cheek got it correclty

Last thing, since I'm interested in this project I'm willing to fund something to help you develop this repo.
