fusionconverter's Introduction

FusionConverter

Fusion converter

PCB GERBERs, BOM, Verilog and Quartus assignments files.

Compatibility list: https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=Fusion_converter

Wire the "RESET" pads on both boards together with a small wire. JTAG connections: see JTAG.png. The board MUST be powered externally during programming, the programming cable doesn't provide power.

Note to JGO

  • You were dumb enough to clone an open-hardware project. You could just have used these files.
  • You're not respecting the license.
  • If you cloned a device without paying attention to its open-source nature, that means you would also clone closed-source devices without caring.

fusionconverter's Issues

Compiling the CPLD Firmware

Hello
i have built two of these and they both act the same, i get only the normal blue screen and rarely i get a verry garbled Neo geo logo trying to show.

When i tried to compile the firmware in Quartus i got many errors in regards to timings as there is no SDC file, i tried to make my own and got rid of almost all the complaints but i was more or less just making guesses so im not sure i did it correctly.

basicly im not at all confident in my compiled firmware and i suspect that is the issue as i have double checked soldering.

Is there a more complete set of quartus files to work with? or even better a confirmed and known working file to program the cpld with?

Looks like original files were made in quartus 12, i was not able to find that so i was using quartus 13, maybe thats a problem?
have tested several mvs cartidges.

reset wire is soldered in.

not sure how to proceed, any help appreciated
thanks

BOM

I see about 7 pads for capacitors on both boards, including the through-hole ones. I see from many pictures of your fusion that the through-hole is not populated. I still see three caps in the front, and two on the back, but the BOM has only two caps listed. I think the BOM is incomplete? Please advise =). Trying to make one for personal use.
