VMware CodeHouse India 2022

This document will serve as guidance for attendees and mentors of VMware CodeHouse India 2022. The theme for this year's CodeHouse is based on DE&I.

Diversity is imperative to create and sustain innovative organizations. Women unable to continue with their careers due to several reasons end up taking a break. How can we make these women come back to workforce after the break? How can we make them employable in the fast-changing technological world? How can we help organizations recruit for their programs focusing on returnship? How can we leverage technology to train and connect these women to the right upskilling platforms and job opportunities? Via this hackathon, the participants will develop a solution to connect promising women candidates who have taken a career break, to job opportunities and access to technical mentorship programs.

To make sure you are comfortable with the environment we will be using, please read through the following documents well in advance:

Cloud Native App Development Track

1. Containers 101 - This course lays the groundwork for your Kubernetes journey. You’ll learn foundational knowledge on containers and how they work.
2. Kubernetes 101 - This course lays out the case for container orchestration and provides an overview of the concepts underlying Kubernetes, the leading container orchestration platform.
3. Kubernetes Core Concepts - In this path, you'll learn how to containerise and deploy a Kubernetes application, manage application lifecycle and configuration, networking considerations, workload options and security, and more.

Programming Language Track

1. Go Fundamentals - Starting from the ground up and assuming no prior knowledge, this course will teach you to program in the Go programming language from Google.
2. Java Fundamentals, Java Fundamentals 1 - This course provides complete coverage of the Java programming language and serves as a strong foundation for all Java-based development environments.
3. JavaScript Core, JavaScript Core 1, JavaScript Core 2 - In this path you will learn the basics of JavaScript as well as more advanced topics such as promises, asynchronous programming, proxies and reflection.
4. React, Redux, Router, React, Redux, Router 1 - Learn how to use React, Redux, React, Router, and modern JavaScript to build an app with React.
5. Angular - A quick introduction to the Angular framework, focusing on its most commonly used parts.

Miscellaneous Track

1. GIT, GitHub Intro - GIT Beginners to Advanced
2. DB Fundamentals - Introduction to different DB Technologies - MySQL, PosrgreSQL Basics, MongoDB Essentials
