Actually, if you clone the repo, there is no code for address validation
According to 0d003be the file should be called "validation.py" but there is no such file

Litecoin addresses should be invalidated by the library. Currently, they seem to fall through.

For example this address passed the test:
LRM8qA2YH5cdYDWhFMDLE7GHcW2YmXPT5m

Please fix, so Litecoin will fail, whilst Bitcoin will pass.

Please post new version on pypi, new altcoin verification is very useful

im getting this:

NameError: name 'sys_platform' is not defined

when installing on python 2.7.11 with pip version 7.1.2 and setuptools 19.1.1

Passing "allow_testnet" parameter sesms not to work

>>> validate('m7NdbrSGoUotzeGCcMMCqnFkEvLymoou9j', allow_testnet=True)
False

Maybe it will be a nice idea to have "magic bytes" instead of just Tesnet for BTC, so it can be use generic for Altcoins
