I'm not sure when it occurred but changes in the security profile of both Chrome and Firefox resulted in it being necessary to an audio context upon a user gesture. Note Kitchen appears to try to initiate the audio context on page load prior to any gestures and so fails meaning that 'play' does not work. (Notably it does work in Safari.)

I know what the problem is and can attempt a resolution if you want, but I wanted to make you aware of this issue and have a place to discuss it further, if necessary.

Have you thought about separating out the bit that parses ascii chord names into a structured representation? Seems like a useful library for other purposes. A while ago I wrote a script to compute ukulele chord fingerings for arbitrary chords and I've occasionally thought about rewriting it in JavaScript. Having a shared library for parsing chords would be awesome.
