xcollection-archive's Issues

applied_methods

The analysis class operates using an applied_methods attribute of operators and a datasource. The idea here is that the operations are skipped if the associated method has already been applied.

This might be useful, but it might also be very fragile.

If it's to be useful, we need a clear syntax for applied_methods attributes and this need to be implemented upstream in esmlab and intake-cesm.

opportunities for parallelism

The analyzed_datasource method is setup to loop over "ensemble members". This presents an opportunity for parallelism. Are their advantages to using, say, dask.delayed() here?

Add minimal functional tests

For testing/debugging purposes, we should add minimal functional tests to the repo.

Considerations:

  • Fix unit tests (Addressed in #9)
  • Compile small, sample datasets to use
  • Write functional test in form of a runnable Jupyter notebook
