menutools's Issues

There is no options for "Foxit reader"

Hi,
"Always on top" feature is greyed out for "Foxit reader" (a lightweight alternative to adobe acrobat reader, I believe many engineers are using that). I use 64 bit version, https://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf-reader/.

  • That "Minimize to system tray" option comes from foxit itself, menu entries from MenuTools are greyed out

A little bit of spam: I jumped to https://github.com/AlexanderPro/SmartSystemMenu while your project was "on hold" (cannot remember exact reason, maybe x64 applications was not handled in "MenuTools"..?). Maybe you will will be interested in features it has to offer. The show stopper for that project is that it does not support google chrome, so I am switching back to menu tools to tryout.

Thank you for making a must have addon for windows OS, great work :)

Request for portable installation

Hey, I have just come across your great little application here and I am very happy with it. I am interested to see if you can include an option in the installer for a portable installation/create a portable version of the program? Just an idea. Thank you for your hard work and super useful app!

Trouble shutting down suddenly

I use the K lite codec pack as a video player. When I right-click with the mouse and come to the option "always on top" from the menu, the menu suddenly closes.

Thanks!

Installed, works, great.
Thanks!

[Feature Request] Toggle taskbar icons

Request:

Add an option for toggling the taskbar icon of an app. Similar to minimize to tray but doesn't minimize the window.

Further explanation:

This is a bit of a niche one but I think it fits this tool pretty well.
I have a few apps that I leave open on my desktop but I don't really want them cluttering up my taskbar. I think it would be super handy to have an option to hide the taskbar icon (or move it into the tray instead). I think it fits nicely in combination with the Always on top feature to complete that popup feel for specified windows.

Flag -hide does not work

Meanwhile, I congratulate you on this fantastic feature.
As per object, however, the new function that allows you to hide the icon from the systray does not work for me, or maybe I don't know how to make it work. However, in the menu I cannot find the option to hide the tray icon. In reality, the application integrates perfectly with the system menu and once installed it makes no sense to remove it or know that it is active.
Thanks for your work anyway.

Problem starting MenuTools on 64bit OS

Hi,

I've got a problem starting MenuTools on my 64bit Windows 10. There's no problem on a 32bit Windows 10.
It seems, that there's a problem, when MenuTools.exe tries to launch MenuTools64.exe if you're not in the MenuTools install folder.
As MenuTools requires admin rights, I've created a scheduled task running
c:\program files\menutools\menutools.exe
with highest priviledges to circumvent UAC. This doesn't work. The process exits silently.
Adding the working directory doesn't work either.

But - as a workaround - launching
cmd /c start /d "c:\program files\menutools" /b menutools.exe
works fine.

Toggle for open on startup?

Is there a way to toggle open-on startup ? I didn't select when initially installing the app but now seems like there is no way to set it.
