A lightweight Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty VM in Docker, primarily used for integration testing of Ansible roles.

Usage

The image and container can be built and started like so:

$ docker build -t naftulikay/trusty-vm:latest ./
$ docker run -d --name trusty naftulikay/trusty-vm:latest
$ docker exec -it trusty wait-for-boot

View docker-compose.yml for a working reference on how to build and run the image/container.

docker-trusty-vm's Issues

Does not Remount SELinux Filesystem

This causes it to go berserk on SELinux enabled hosts like CentOS.

Remove Ansible

This image should be generic, meaning it shouldn't have Ansible already installed in it. For the use case of testing Ansible roles against multiple distributions, move to instead using the Ansible's native docker connection provider, and run Ansible outside of the container against all hosts simultaneously.

This should greatly decrease build time and should test roles more accurately, running them from outside of the containers.

Provide Utilities

• Makefile and make
• Vagrantfile and 14.04/CentOS 7 hosts for testing SELinux nonsense.
• wait-for-boot script
• Goss tests as part of the build; test for sane requirements.
• Provide contract of container.
