Clear errors for missing libraries

When running Traverse without Mystical Lib there is, unsurprisingly, a null pointer exception. It might help micro-brains like me to throw a clear error, preferably a message in forge.

If this is unexpected behavior I found this with 1.15.2 - 3.2.0

[1.16.4] Setting the spawn weight of a biome to 0.0 doesn't disable its generation

General Information

Describe the bug:
Literally what the title says

To Reproduce:
1. Change the weight of any biome to 0.0 in the mod's config file
2. Save config & start Minecraft
3. Generate a new world
4. Fly around and notice how the biome is still generating
5. Tip: It's best to try out with the Meadows biome because it generates more often than others

Expected behavior:
The biome with a weight of 0.0 shouldn't generate at all according to the config's description
(It says setting the weight to 0.0 disables generation, but it doesn't)

Missing fir wood derivatives

Describe your suggestion:
Fir wood feels like a 2nd class citizen, lacking blocks/items added either by vanilla or mods:

  • Bookshelf

Describe alternatives you've considered:
Some of these like the ladder, chest, and bookshelf could require Quark to be installed to be included.

Chunk generation problems / Crash when using /findbiome

General Information

Hi,
Here to report a bug. He doesn't seems to be game breaking and is probably already fixed or you are already informed, but it cost nothing to inform you. I know it's an "old" version but the bug may be also occuring with more recent versions.
I've made a modpack with traverse, i noticed weird chunk generation (sort of mosaic), I thought it was mod incompatibility but after many test, to my surprise, I do not seems to be the case, I've tested with a new instance with only traverse and forge installed and I think i know where the bug come from.

Describe the bug:

When using the command /findbiome, the scan start, if the player start moving during the scan, weird mosaic shaped chunk will generate (like a chess board with white=biome 1 and black = biome 2). Sometimes this can crash the game with a game ticking world exception.

To Reproduce:

  1. Create a single player world in creative with only traverse installed
  2. Reduce the render distance to 8 to reduce de chunk generation distance (That way we can see the weird generation before a biome is found and tp occur)
  3. Go up mid-air in creative
  4. Use the /findbiome traverse:biome to start a scan a locate the said biome
  5. After entering the command, start moving forward to generate biome (during the scan)

Expected behavior:
A indication that the player should not move during the scan, maybe block him from moving so that such chunk are not generated. At least an informative text saying that the scan can cause chunk generation problem when moving.

Incompatibility with Terrestria

General Information

Describe the bug:
Pretty straightforward. The game crashed on startup when running both Traverse and Terrestria together. Tried removing all of my other mods except the two mods and their dependencies and the game still crashed. Running Traverse alone on the other hand results in the "failed to load a valid ResoucePackInfo" message appearing, which has been reported by cleakey below.

To Reproduce:
Simply run Terrestria and Traverse together along with their dependencies.

minecraft crashes when generating world with specific seed

When trying to generate a world with the seed -2998794942446541336, Minecraft crashes.

Certain biomes don't have their BiomeDictionary types registered

General Information

Biomes that use BiomeVariants#addReplacement do not have their biome dictionary types registered.

TraverseBiome#registerBiome does not add the biome to the BiomeManager if the weight is less than 1, but the biome dictionary registrations are inside this if block. Putting the biome dictionary registrations outside this should fix it.

Fir logs and leaves not fully templated as trees

General Information

Describe the bug:
Fir wood is not smeltable into charcoal, and fir leaves drop themselves, rather than being destroyed and having a chance of dropping saplings and sticks.

To Reproduce:

  1. Find a fir tree
  2. Cut it down
  3. Be hailed by fir leaf blocks
  4. Take fir wood and try to put in furnace
  5. put coal in fuel slot, nothing happens.

The fur wood is burnable, however.

Expected behavior:
I expect the leaves to not drop leaf blocks. I expect instead they should be broken, and mostly not drop anything, but have a chance of instead dropping a stick or a fir sapling.
I also expect the logs should be smeltable into charcoal.

Forge 31.2.4

Mystic Mods Versions

  • MysticalLib: 2.0.0
  • Traverse: 3.2.0

[1.15.2] Mystical Lib isn't properly a required dependency

On Traverse 3.2.0 launching the game without Mystical Lib installed crashes the game instead of showing the error message that required mods are missing.

This should be caused by Mystical Lib not being a dependency in the mods.toml and the related stuff (which looks like is currently commented out).

[1.15.2] High RAM memory expense on my server

I have installed the mod in my server in 1.15.2, the version traverse-1.15.2-3.0.0.jar and I have the problem that it consumes a lot of RAM memory. Just when a player enters the server it starts to consume it and doesn't stop until it reaches its maximum. This can only be solved by restarting the server.

The consumption increases when you join the Dungeon Crawl mod.

I would like to know if the new version corrects this problem or if it can be corrected in some way.

Woodlands biome generates as Autumnal Forest biome.

I'm using the latest 1.15.2 version. I used the Nature Compass mod to search for Woodlands biome, but each one I found is generated as a Autumnal Forest, while keeping the traverse:woodlands id. Here's a screenshot:
2020-05-09_20 00 02

Autumnal leaves don't drop saplings.

General Information

Describe the bug:
Leaves in the trees belonging to the Autumnal Wooded Hills biome will drop in block form even when decaying, instead of things leaves normally would drop, like saplings, sticks, or apples, making their saplings impossible to obtain. I have tested this with red, yellow, brown, and orange autumnal leaves.

To Reproduce:

  1. Break autumnal tree.
  2. Any decaying leaves will drop as blocks.

Expected behavior:
I don't think I need to be any clearer on this; autumnal leaves should drop saplings, etc.

[Suggestion] Config toggle for biomes

Describe your suggestion:
1.12.2 Traverse had a basic enable/disable config for its biomes. Such an addition to 1.14.4 Traverse seems like a good idea and would help with pack development and playability. Since global configs are now possible, this seems like a very nice QoL addition.

Describe alternatives you've considered:
A much more complex possibility would be adding a configurable weight for all Traverse biomes, but a simple enable/disable would be plenty good.

Additional context:

(Question) Will updating the mod badly effect saves that used a previous version?

I have a planned to be long time world with the mod loaded and everything is working great, but the new update adds a new biome and affects an older biome. I wanted to know if updating will be safe or should I not update.
(sorry if wrong location for question, but comments were disabled on the mod page and I couldn't find anywhere better to ask)

Fir door drops two items

General Information

Describe the bug:
Breaking a fir door drops two items.
This is caused by the generated loot table not checking for the "lower" property of the door blockstate. (See vanilla door loot tables)

NullPointerException on Fresh 1.14.4-2.0.1

Does not immediately appear as a Traverse issue but disabling mods listed in latter reports consecutively narrowed it down to Traverse.

However installing the previous version then the new one again fixed it.

https://pastebin.com/4g2q9MYU

Doggy Talents, Random Patches, RFTools Power, RFTools Utility, Security Craft all appeared as culprits before Traverse crashed with the same error. A quick disable in twitch and load the game again one at time found the problem eventually; as did reducing the version number afterwards.
