I’ve done what you said in the read me and it works great!

My question is that since firebase allows you to have multiple providers, how can I use the google API if I signed in with another provider?

For example, I have Google and Password as providers, and the scopes are set for google to access the APIs, however the user signed in with a password. Can I somehow take that password authentication and sign into Gapi?

It would be great if there were examples for React and Next (and i assume other people would be interested in seeing it work on their frameworks of choice...)

This is a great demo and it really does tackle the exact issue I've run into. However, the usage of gapi.auth2 is being deprecated and removed in a few months, so this example won't be a long-term solution.

Updating this code example to use the new identity system in combination with Firebase would be very helpful.

Just a note that signInAndRetrieveDataWithCredential is now deprecated in favor of signInWithCredential. It appears to be merely a name change.
