Ember makes a lot of things harder because you have to do it the Ember way. I am not utilizing a lot of the benefits that Ember provides such as Ember Data etc so moving to a more widely known framework such as React will benefit the project.

The conversion will be pretty straight forward except that I am still learning React myself so any assistance would be helpful. I plan to work the project in such a way that the components are reusable to between both the cloud variant and the standalone controller. The controller will most likely run as an Electron App long term on the Raspberry Pi utilizing the screen or a tablet for touch screen.

Most of the work here is creating react components and modularizing the CSS to work nicely within React instead of just including all of the CSS all the time. Some restructuring will eventually take place to pull common components into a shared folder and be built accordingly with webpack
