The ASP.NET MVC HTML5 Walkabout is part of a personal quest to HTML5 development best practices and tools on the ASP.NET MVC Stack. Specifically, I'm looking to:
- Leverage the fine HTML5 foundations found in the HTML5 Boilerplate project.
- Optimize script and image resources.
- And explore the advantages/disadvantages of using higher-level languages for CSS (Sass) and Javascript (Coffeescript) for better expressiveness and robustness.
To that end, it leverages the following NuGet packages:
- Web Standards Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SP1
- The Mother Effin HTML5 Site
- The Mindscape Web Workbench (which provides Coffeescript and Sass support)
- The Combres.Mvc Resource Combine Library (which provides script minification, combining, versioning, and cache management)
- The Sprite and Image Optimization Package (which will optimize the images and create sprites)
