firefox-themes's Issues

CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md file missing

As of January 1 2019, Mozilla requires that all GitHub projects include this CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md file in the project root. The file has two parts:

  1. Required Text - All text under the headings Community Participation Guidelines and How to Report, are required, and should not be altered.
  2. Optional Text - The Project Specific Etiquette heading provides a space to speak more specifically about ways people can work effectively and inclusively together. Some examples of those can be found on the Firefox Debugger project, and Common Voice. (The optional part is commented out in the raw template file, and will not be visible until you modify and uncomment that part.)

If you have any questions about this file, or Code of Conduct policies and procedures, please see Mozilla-GitHub-Standards or email [email protected].

'Classic UI Restorer' functionalities "built-in" to themes

If using the 'Classic UI Restorer' is no longer possible after version 57, then (to please a HUGE number of users) the 'Classic UI Restorer' functionalities need to be an integral part of the UI, either as a theme, or as an option in 'Preferences'.

  • Many people do not like the "chrome" look, aka 'Australis'. I am one of them.
  • Many people are not on touch devices, i.e. we use a keyboard and mouse.
  • The 'hamburger' (3 horizontal line) button for the menu should be optional. If I turn it off, the 'normal' menu should automatically show up. Thankfully I can still enable the menu in the versions of firefox that I have been running. I want to be able to DISable the 'hamburger' button without an add-on.
  • 2D 'Flat UI' appearance should also be 'optional'. Some people (like me) actually want the 3D-looking "bulbous" colored buttons, like Windows XP vs Windows 10.
  • Square tabs with square or round corners are often preferred to overly rounded ones
  • Colored icons are often preferred to drab grey ones
  • Microsoft and Google (i.e. Windows 'metro' and Google chrome) should not determine what everybody else's UI looks like. The customer's personal taste should determine that.
  • Giving the end-user more options (a trend in the opposite direction, yeah) is a "selling feature" for your browser over others
  • This includes giving the users the current UI look if that's what they actually want.

Please show the world that Mozilla is concerned about customers, and what customers want, and not be like Microsoft and Google, who seem to want to dictate to customers what they are going to get.
