mdn-l10n's Introduction

mdn-l10n

This project contains the gettext location files for MDN. These are the UI and user-facing strings for:

  • Kuma, the engine of MDN

To update translations, please use Pontoon. Pontoon will update this repository with your changes. They will be applied to the website on the next production push, which happens once or twice a week on an irregular schedule.

The source strings are updated by the MDN development team. See the Kuma documentation on Localization for more information.

mdn-l10n's Issues

Merge locales bn-BD and bn-IN into a single locale bn

We are going to merge the two locales into one to fully utilize the community resources. The plan is:

Dev:

  • MDN creates a bn folder at repo
  • Move bn-BD repo content to bn repo and confirm it's all there (bn-BD has more content in comparison)
  • Remove bn-BD, bn-IN repos

Pontoon (l10n):

  • Pontoon dev migrates the data to bn (this includes contributors histories)
  • L10n PM confirms the update and closes this issue

CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md file missing

As of January 1 2019, Mozilla requires that all GitHub projects include this CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md file in the project root. The file has two parts:

  1. Required Text - All text under the headings Community Participation Guidelines and How to Report, are required, and should not be altered.
  2. Optional Text - The Project Specific Etiquette heading provides a space to speak more specifically about ways people can work effectively and inclusively together. Some examples of those can be found on the Firefox Debugger project, and Common Voice. (The optional part is commented out in the raw template file, and will not be visible until you modify and uncomment that part.)

If you have any questions about this file, or Code of Conduct policies and procedures, please see Mozilla-GitHub-Standards or email [email protected].
