No menu if mouseup outside paragraph

Because the mouseup listener is added on the container, if the selection ends slightly outside it, it won't register.Not sure if there's a good solution that doesn't involve the user adding a wrapper element.

HierarchyRequestError in IE10 when selecting text of the menu

Menu not hidden when mousing down outside the container and selection disappears

Selection doesn't disappear if clicking within it in IE10

It does go away if clicking outside the selection.

Triple click lands the menu way below the selection

Direction sensitivity

When selecting a large chunk of text from right to left, the menu ideally should appear at the left edge of the selection, because

1. That is where the user's pointing device will be
2. That way the selection isn't obscured by the menu
