When listening to the 9am New Leaf Soundtrack, (I have only tested the regular soundtrack, not the rain or snow version), the loop does not wait for the full rest duration, but instead loops too quickly and produces a noticeable hitch/loop cut in the soundtrack. Seems like the track is clipped too soon and just needs to be extended a bit.

How'd I get the app to run on system start-up? I want the music to just play upon system startup. I'm using Windows 10, btw

The true window height is taller then it should be
This causes issues in Gnome when it tries to apply effects to the window

This also affects macos, although the issue isn't as severe there, the only way to know is selecting the window in the activity view

Hello! I first want to start off by saying this application is amazing and I'm very glad I found it.

I was wondering if a new option could be added to cycle the themes on a time-based value in the settings menu rather than hourly. Say each song plays for 5 minutes instead of an hour. I would love to be able to hear all of the songs on a loop instead of just based on the current time of day.

Along with this request, an option to skip the current hourly theme would be awesome too.

Working towards getting a certificate for this build, should take 1-2 weeks.

I often study/get productive with Animal Crossing music in the background [especially with rainy days]. I'd love to suggest to incorporate a customizeable pomodoro timer within the app to help me keep track of time.

Mac user here. Maybe add the option to close the app and have an icon in the menu bar instead of the dock but have the music still playing.

I really like the grandfather clock mode for the 🎶 "ding dong" 🎶 (especially when doing stuff for a long time) but i also want the music/rain to keep going.

Maybe the Grandfather clock mode can have a submenu with enabling or disabling playing once/no looping!

I grew up with wild world and would love to see this added to the list :)

Do you think it would be possible to create a version for linux? (for example through AppImage or something like that?)

I'm now using the windows app, but the chrome extension still plays over it...
The thing is, I deleted it from my extension list... how is it still playing music in chrome?

And I know it's chrome, if I have multiple chrome windows open, it plays the hourly chime multiple times.

After installing and trying to manually open Nook, I just get a small window that says "Nook.exe - Entry Point Not Found", with the error inside being "The procedure entry point GetPackageFamilyName could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll."
After closing the error, nothing.

Is this because I'm still on Win7, or..? Because it seems like this is a bug with Nook itself rather than with my OS missing something considering that this isn't a UWP-based app..
Additionally, I feel that the installer should ask if the user would 1. want a shortcut on the desktop, since not everyone does, and 2. ask if they want Nook to run at startup and minimize to the icon tray, like what Malwarebytes and TegraRcmGUI can do.

Maybe this is by design and wont be "fixed" but when you pause the song, it clearly just fully stops playing it. When you "resume", it restarts the song - or worse if you're on Random mode it'll just change to a new song/game entirely.
If we could get a true pause button that would be great.

The Music box versions of the K.K. Slider songs are the only in game versions of the songs that aren't available at the moment. Adding them would mean having three versions of every K.K. Slider song, but if that's willing to be done it could be a neat addition.

I may be crazy, but I think it'd be cool to have a small "Now Playing" Pop-Up that displays what song is being played.

Hi, I don't really know how this works but when I play music, the track (then shortly after, the rain sounds) will cut out and won't loop? Is there a way to fix it? I'm on a MacBook Air.

I was playing through New Leaf recently and remembered that dream towns use a special variant of hourly themes. These variants sound a little dreamy-like and feature some echo. Could these be a potential addition to the New Leaf variants?

Continuation of an issue started here.

The 11PM theme is missing an accordion section that plays after two loops of the main part of the song.
For reference, this is the accordion part I'm talking about.

It seems that while the issue was marked as fixed and closed, this section is still missing from both the desktop app and the soon to be deprecated Chrome extension version (as well as the Firefox version, but that version has just not been updated for two years anyway).

Again, this issue is present in the Normal and Rainy variations of the song, but not the Snow variation.

Recently got to know this program and I tried to use this in my office.
And it tells that failed to load hourly music
Even I failed to download hourly music.

I think that this is because of proxy server which my company uses.

Can you add setting to enter proxy URL?

Sort of like a custom 24 hour soundtrack, an extra option where it takes in files and plays them in the hours that the players choose.

This is a bug where after a few hours of K.K's performance two K.K songs will be selected simultaneously and continue to play until the songs end or the application is restarted or paused.

I have K.K set to automatically play on Saturdays and have not messed around with customizing the playlist.

Was wondering if it would be possible to add the Rainy music from the original Animal Crossing as an option. It is only one track for all hours, but it is one that I have a deep fondness for as an AC:GCN player and it would be nice to have it as an included track option.

Maybe also make it so that it doesn't mute on certain apps that you can specify

Would be nice for those of us who use Random mode to have the name of the song/game shown somewhere, would also be nice for people who use the KK Slider functionality too. Maybe show it in the window and/or have it so when you hover over the tray icon it shows the name?

Hello! Longtime enjoyer of the browser plugin here, just found out it got deprecated in favour of a full blown app (still waiting on that Linux Build though, haha!).

I have a feature request: is it within the scope of the project (or even possible for that matter) to add a setting to select manual playback of our own hourly music loops?

This also seems kinda related to #5, I think.

Additionally: Is there a discord for the community to join so they can ask questions about this app?

I'm wondering if there is/are some permission(s) I'd have to enable at root, or if there's another fix.

I have encountered an issue where the town tune feature will stop working after running a few times.
This also occurs if my computer is put into sleep mode without closing the program.
The only temporary fix i have found is restarting the application.

I have not customized my tune and have tune enabled, i even tried unchecking it and checking it again but seems to have done nothing.

I'm running on windows 11, unsure if these issues persist on other versions.

I can't seem to find where the downloaded songs are.

I already suggested this at mn6/nook#15. The local weather could influence which theme (standard, rainy or snowy) of the selected game should be played and whether rain sounds should be played or not.

I believe that this is caused by the "game rain" and "no thunder rain" sound options not being counted in the total

A couple years ago Scruffy made a wonderful 24-hour soundtrack for an imaginary animal crossing fangame, called Animal Crossing: Taking Root, and I'd love to be able to listen to it all day through Nook! It's very high quality and well made in the spirit of Animal Crossing games.

He has said people are free to use it in projects as long as you buy the album off his bandcamp (10 dollars) and remember to credit, but for a project like this where you'd just be using the music as is it might still be smart for the project lead to ask him for permission. I feel like he might be happy to let people listen to the music through a free app like this, as he's already made the 1 hour looped versions he has on youtube ad-free. If you don't want to add non-official Animal Crossing music in the app that's fine though, just a suggestion!

Sometimes, when a song ends it will re-play as another song starts to play. This means boths songs play at same time. If pause then un-pause only the new song plays.

I just tried to install this on Windows and every time I open it I immediately get a "stopped working" error and have to close the program. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling it to no avail.

Since in #1 translations were mentioned I thought about a german translation since I'm german my self. Could help with the translation if necessary. This could be also added to #1 since its topic is similar/same.

with this town tune, the first chime of the gongs to tell you the hour will begin during the hold between "E-D" and disrupt the song

Like from the ACNH vinyl Hazure02 -City & Pop Ver.- or from the wild world promotional disc KK choice mix you could add 2:00 AM KK mix or maybe even from the Your Favorite Songs soundtrack you could add KK house (Club Version)

(Also it would be a lot of work probably but the idea of the music box versions of all the kk songs from new horizons would be cool, but it would also be another 95 songs which is a big undertaking id imagine)

Yes, it is a suggestion. It will be cool to add all the stores sound tracks of the animal crossing franchise. Like K.K it can have its own section, including in the random one.

I'm highly interested in helping this project.

Whenever you get around to enhancing the app it would be nice if when minimized the app would hide in the menu bar on Mac and when clicked would give options to play pause or change what game the music is playing from ect. Thank you!
