I'm used to use Kinesis advantage this had the same thumb buttons.
I think its better for me then manufold.
Its great design what you have done.
I have printed left and right.
Is is possible to make 6x6. Its now missing ESC and Function buttons.
They are very useful.

Hi, Thanks for putting this together. As a long time Kinesis user I think this will solve a lot of problems I am having. Couple of quick questions:

1. Have you designed/use wrist rests with this?
2. Is the thumb cluster at the same height as it is on the Kinesis, or is it slight lower?
3. If you've used both, do you have a clear preference for this vs. the Kinesis?
4. Lastly: I noticed you reused the 1.25u keys on the pinky. Is it easy to make these 1U instead?

I was trying to 3D print the base, but both v1 and v2 models are giving me warnings saying these are corrupted. Can you double check the files are uploaded correctly? Thank you!

I was looking for a split keyboard that replicated the keys and layout of the Kinesis Advantage 2 and this fit the bill perfectly, so thank you for sharing your work. I'm in the process of printing it! 🤞

One question about the thumb cluster. I noticed there are no cutouts for stabilizers for the longer (2u?) keys. Did you tack those on somehow after the print? Or did you find they were not needed?

After compiling a fresh checkout of the repo using build/build.sh, I get no warnings/errors and the .scad files are generated.
Opening them in OpenSCAD 2024.03.08 (latest git HEAD at the time of writing) I get a few red faces in the thumb cluster:

Is there a known cause to this? Maybe even a fix? Or should I use the latest OpenSCAD release (2021.01) instead?

I tried editing this in FreeCAD and noticed that the mesh has some manifold errors. Here is a screenshot from Meshmixer pointing out where the errors are.

To reproduce:

• build the models with cmake (same commands as readme)
• convert to a .stl with openscad (same commands as readme)
• import stl into Meshmixer (https://www.meshmixer.com/)

I am still not convinced which material to use to 3d print the case. I am worried about the finishing look&feel.
Which one did you use? Are you happy with robustness and look&feel?

Maybe, it would be great to add some details about your build:

• Material: ABS, PLA or PEGT?
• Infill: 20%?
  *. nice to have: any recommendation on which 3d print website to use, if you have any experience?
