An Ansible role that installs powerline on Linux.

Role Variables

Available variables are listed below, along with default values:

powerline_default_top_theme: powerline
powerline_shell_vcs_branch: yes
powerline_vim: no
powerline_tmux: no

Top theme

With the variable powerline_default_top_theme you can define the default top theme of powerline.

VCS branch

By default the VCS branch will be displayed in powerline if available. This can be disabled with setting powerline_shell_vcs_branch to no.

ansible-role-powerline's Issues

wish: start and enable 'powerline-daemon' systemd service

At least on Debian, the powerline package ships with a systemd "user" file that can be used to manager powerline-daemon.

This is a better alternative than launching the daemon via bash. Systemd would handle restarting the service if it fails and allows logging and status to be handled in a standardized why.

Assuming a file like /usr/lib/systemd/user/powerline-daemon.service exists, Ansible could start and enable the service, doing the equivalent of:

    systemctl --user start powerline-daemon
    systemctl --user enable powerline-daemon
