I have tested this in my VM, WSL, DO VPS and Google Cloud Shell, so I think it's not my problem.
Attempting to install under Debian buster/sid, howto?

Any idea what to do?
Debian Stretch compatibility
Instruction for Debian at Download page says it works for Stretch, but looks like only Buster supported. Installation on Stretch fails with the following dependency issues:
$ sudo apt install et

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
et : Depends: libcurl4 (>= 7.16.2) but it is not installable
Depends: libstdc++6 (>= 7) but 6.3.0-18+deb9u1 is to be installed

Is there a way to install et on Stretch?
et 6.1.8 has been released but latest in this repository is 6.1.7-buster2
Official packaging?
Since it looks like this has been in fedora for a while, I wonder if there has been any effort to put this into the debian archive.
I see https://salsa.debian.org/czchen/eternal-terminal, but it is 5 years stale.
I see also see a debian branch in upstream, https://github.com/MisterTea/EternalTerminal/tree/debian, last updated 7 years ago.
How or where are these generated?
jessie packages missing
Hi @MisterTea,
I can no longer get packages for debian jessie from this repo. Is this on purpose? Would love to see them since I have not all of my boxes upgraded to stretch jet ...
et.service in the deb package doesn't match et.service in EternalTerminal repo
Can the systemd et.service
file used in the debian package build process be updated to match systemctl/et.service
in the main EternalTerminal repo.
The current debian version (6.2.1) is missing the following commit, which adds Restart=on-failure
:
MisterTea/EternalTerminal@6e3d8cc
The debian package is still using an older version of that file, however it doesn't match what's on master or the release branch, so I'm not sure where that version is coming from.
Thanks!
