Hi,

as the title says, characters such as é and ñ are not saved in the sqlite database, but are instead dropped.
See for example lyrics for "La Vida Tombola" from "Manu Chao":
First sentence after saving: "Si yo fuera Maradona, vivira como l" (instead of "Si yo fuera Maradona, vivira como él").

I replaced the esqlite package with emacsql and emacsql-sqlite3 package (AFAIK more actively maintained) and rewrote the affected parts, which solves this issue.
If you are interested, I can open up a PR for this?

Hi Mihai,
This is a great package. However, I could not run versuri-display it on my emacs:
OS version: Mac OS 10.13.6
Emacs version: Version 27.0.50

The error is

esqlite--error: esqlite: "Currently this system cannot handle async family."
