@niners52 - Sorry we missed your message. I suggest please contact support for issues outside documentation.

I have reached out to support over a dozen times and they told me to come here.

from advertising-docs.

@niners52 - Thanks for letting me know. It sounded like an account specific issue i.e., someone would need to check your account details. For general help with Bing Ads API and Scripts please use the advertising-api tag in the Q&A forum.

This repo is for documentation, but since you are here already I'm happy to restart the conversation. Can you please share more details about the script before and after your changes? Can you share the script without personal and confidential details..? If it turns out personal info is needed to investigate, then I'll refer you back to support again. (Please direct them to this conversation for context as needed.)

Below is what I have. I tweaked the access token. Because of how long we have used the account, how many ads we have, and site migrations getting this to work would be huge for me.

function main() {
// Add a comma-delimited list of email addresses that should receive the
// notification email
const NOTIFY = ['[email protected]'];

// Set this value to 'Ad' to check ad URLs or 'Keyword' to check keyword URLs
const ENTITY_NAME = 'Ad'; // Valid values: 'Ad', 'Keyword'

const SCRIPT_NAME = Microsoft Advertising - ${ENTITY_NAME} URL Checker;
const ACCOUNTS_FILE_NAME = MicrosoftAds-Scripts-Broken${ENTITY_NAME}Urls-AccountList.json;
const SPREADSHEET_PREFIX = MicrosoftAds-Scripts-Broken${ENTITY_NAME}Urls;
const ACCOUNT_BATCH_SIZE = 50;

// Set this value to true to get an email even if no broken URLs were found
const SEND_EMAIL_EVEN_IF_NO_BROKEN_URLS_FOUND = false;

// Set this value to true to include inactive entities in the check
const INCLUDE_INACTIVE_ENTITIES = false;

// Add custom response checks to this function if needed
const checkResponse = function (url, response, entity) {
/*
var responseText = response.getContentText();

if (responseText.includes('out of stock')) {
return { isGood: false, error: 'Received out of stock response' };
}
*/
return { isGood: true };
}

// See this page to get Google credentials: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/advertising/scripts/examples/authenticating-with-google-services
// If you chose option 1 in Getting an access token, set accessToken to
// the token you received from Google OAuth playground. Otherwise, if you
// chose option 2, set clientId, clientSecret, and refreshToken.

@niners52 - Looks like you pasted the URL checker script inside the main() function (which is generated by default when creating a new script). To fix this you can first delete any existing main() function (remove any code form the script editor) and then paste the checker script code. I hope this helps!

I removed that and now get an actual error-
Error: { "error": { "errors": [ { "domain": "global", "reason": "authError", "message": "Invalid Credentials", "locationType": "header", "location": "Authorization" } ], "code": 401, "message": "Invalid Credentials" } } at Anonymous function (script code:726:7) at findFileId (script code:588:3) at createFileIfNotExists (script code:598:3) at main (script code:58:3)

I am going to assume it is something wrong with credentials and work on that. But I did want to ask about this statement-"Reads a file from Google Drive. The file contains a list of objects. Each object contains an account ID and a time stamp of when the account was last checked for broken URLs. The first time the script runs the file shouldn't exist. If the file doesn't exist, the script builds the complete list of accounts that the user has access to. Note that the script won't pick up any new accounts that were added after the file was built. If accounts were added, you should delete the file, so it generates a new list of accounts."

Do I create this file or does the script?

@niners52 the script creates a file in your Google Drive.

Regarding authentication please note the access token needs to be refreshed after 60 minutes. Have you tried that?

@niners52 - this looks like an issue in Google's OAuth Playground. I suggest that you contact Google support for that specific issue.
