A bar chart with category values listed vertically. Use for comparing the relative importance of a variable between two distinct groups.

Overview

Tornado charts, are a special type of Bar chart, where the data categories are listed vertically instead of the standard horizontal presentation, and the categories are ordered so that the largest bar appears at the top of the chart, the second largest appears second from the top, and so on. They are so named because the final chart visually resembles either one half of or a complete tornado.

A tornado chart is a common tool used to depict the sensitivity of a result to changes in selected variables. It shows the effect on the output of varying each input variable at a time, keeping all the other input variables at their initial (nominal) values. Typically, you choose a “low” and a “high” value for each input.

Opaque less the 'loser'

Wouldn't it ge great that we can indicate if we want the 'loser' color with 50% opaque and the 'winner' full color.
I know sometimes the winner is the lesser value and sometimes the higher ...

Sort of values in tornado

It would be great that you can choose one of the values to sort the tornado group.

Context menu not working

Context menu does not appear in this visual, #33 infers this feature should be live.

Add support for hierarchy in Group field

Is this visual still maintained? It would be great to be able to drag several columns to the Group bucket so that end users could easily drill up and down through a hierarchy, for instance to navigate between buckets of different granularities.

Set Data colors by Group (currently only supports by Legend).

Can anyone add a feature to set Data colors by Group (currently only supports by Legend).

Custom formatting for the two columns/metrics in the visual

It would be great if we could have custom formatting depending on the column/metric. We commonly use the tornado visual to compare the number and percentage for a value. At the moment you can only globally set the number of decimal places. I would like to be able to set it to none on the whole value and one decimal place on the percentage.
