NGINX DNS Proxy

Deploy VMSS of a NGINX DNS Proxy into an existing Virtual Network.

Prerequisites

• Name of the existing VNET and subnet you want to connect the new virtual machine to.
• Name of the Resource Group that the VNET resides in.
• Depending on region deployed you might need to adjust template for vm SKU size supported.

This template allows deploying two Ubuntu/NGINX VMs using an existing resource for the Virtual Network and subnet. It also allows for choosing between SSH and Password authenticate.

Feature Requests - 1. VMSS flexible orchestration model and 2. Ubuntu 22.04

Two feature requests:

1. Change VMSS orchestration model from Uniform to Flexible. For performance gains (in scaling), and reliability.

2. Update OS image to 22.04 LTS, as 18.04 LTS is EOL by the end of May 2023.

Automate nginx config

The arm templates in this repo automatically install the vms using nginx as a dns forwarder, but as written they require the user to manually configure the nginx dns forward after deployment.
I've modified the scripts to automate this and eliminate the need for manual config.

There is a typo in your readme

I think you mean "existing" instead of "exsiting" in the title.

This repo is missing important files
