CocoaPods plugin for configuring the linkage type of individual pods

CocoaPods Pod Linkage plugin

This project is a CocoaPods plugin that allows to set a :linkage option for a specific pod.

CocoaPods doesn't support mixing static and dynamic pods in the same target, you can use use_frameworks! :linkage => :static or use_frameworks! :linkage => :dynamic to configure the linking style of all pods in a target. This plugin adds support for the :linkage option for single pods allowing you to mix static and dynamic linking in the same target.

Getting started

Install the plugin by adding to your Gemfile

gem "cocoapods-pod-linkage"

Usage

Add to your Podfile

plugin 'cocoapods-pod-linkage'

Then, use the :linkage option to change the linking style of that pod

target :MyTarget do
  use_frameworks! :linkage => :static

  pod 'MyStaticPod', '1.2.3'
  pod 'MyDynamicPod', '1.2.3', :linkage => :dynamic
end

Run tests for this plugin

To run the tests, use

rake tests

cocoapods-pod-linkage's Issues

Unable to use plugin on Mac Silicon

This is the Gemfile:

source "https://rubygems.org"

gem "cocoapods-pod-linkage"

and this is the Podfile:

platform :ios, '12.0'
use_frameworks!

plugin 'cocoapods-pod-linkage'

target 'App' do
end

as soon as I add plugin 'cocoapods-pod-linkage' to Podfile I get an error:

[!] Your Podfile requires that the plugin `cocoapods-pod-linkage` be installed. Please install it and try installation again.

and the plugin is installed:

xcode Report error

When I'm not using cocoapods-pod-linkage, everything is fine
After using cocoapods-pod-linkage, the project runs with a lot of strange errors
Unless xcode is opened using Rosetta
