Source code

This repository contains the Java projects that make up the Micro-Manager "MMStudio" GUI application. The device control layer is written in C++ and found in a separate repository, mmCoreAndDevices, which is currently a git submodule of this repository.

To checkout both repositories together:

git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/micro-manager/micro-manager.git

If you will be making changes to the code, make sure to enable pre-commit hooks as described in doc/pre-commit.md.

• main - the main branch of development (Micro-Manager 2.x)
• svn-mirror - git-svn mirror of the Micro-Manager 1.4 Subversion repository

Directory listing too slow

This is probably due to fetching the size of each file individually (albeit in parallel). Cloud storage is probably not optimized for listing files in a directory either, unlike a filesystem.

Need to paginate, or generate the file list statically (e.g. with a cron job).

Create endpoint to download latest nightly build

Problem

Currently you can download the latest micromanager versions easily - but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to programmatically find the most recent nightly build because it requires knowing both the version numbre and the build information like so:

then that needs to be regularly updated and is fragile w.r.t things like the naming scheme changing (e.g. from gamma -> 2.0.x broke that download).

Potential Solution

Have two new endpoints Windows/latest and Mac/latest that are stable names and always download the most recent nightly build.
