Starting from Android 13 the user can choose in system settings a different language for each app.
Moreover there is a new API to set the app language for Android 12 and lower.
That said, I think a language picker will be available from the next release.

Hi,
The possibility to change the language within Family Gem has been already asked before.
I always opposed because I think that adapt to the system language is enough.
Maybe I'm wrong. Please help me understand.
In which case(s) you need to have Family Gem in a language different from the system language?

Hi,
in my case, I am trying to learn a new language, so I set my system language to a new one, to learn quicker.
But for some apps, that require to understand the exact meaning of the word, I set my native language.
Or sometimes I just quickly switch language, read the word, and then switch it back.
There are words (context) when dictionary don't really help you.
But, if it is hard to implement, I don't think this worth it.

IMHO choose the language per-app actually should be an Android feature.
There is a way to do that: https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/change-androids-language-locale-per-app-basis-0172900
But it's tricky: it requires rooting.
Implement a language switcher inside Family Gem should be a little bit hard but possible, if really necessary.
I don't know, I'm dubious...

Hey, my two cents: my phone is in English but all the names are in Hebrew or Arabic, so aside from having the app speak my language and adapt to the language tree I will also get the full experience since it will all appear as RTL which suits those languages better.

From version 0.9.1 it's possible to change language inside Family Gem.
