BIP85 has a way to generate GPG keys from the root master xprv, that can create a decryption key for each extended key in a descriptor and the descriptor can be encrypted to all keys it contains. Then the seed backup that derives those keys can be secret split.

This seems to allow more flexibility as the privacy could be threshold 3 or more and extra backups could be made of the seed so that any T of them restores the seed and can decrypt the descriptor (that's stored more or less publicly).

Is the only reason for this proposal to still support BIP39?

In the case of an over-eager heir, or crooked estate lawyer, simply don't encrypt the descriptor to them. As long as the descriptor is encrypted to N - T + 1 parties it will not block spending policies.

Please do not lump Gordian with Fully Noded, they are not related projects.

Fully Noded displays addresses (receive and change) for all wallets. Fully Noded is a software wallet.

Fully Noded acts as a signer for any wallet type. I am not sure what criteria you have for "Coordinate TX Signing"?
