get_field_meta() in ModelFieldMixin tries to access the meta of a Field without checking its existence. We may want to handle errors when trying to access non-meta Field gracefully.

Your package was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately when I tried to use it, it turns out that it breaks too many things because it gets too deeply into what Django does internally. One of the obviously broken things is ability to create custom field types:

class CustomFieldType(models.TextField):
    pass

This is not going to work because the FieldWithMeta.__init__() function is going to call itself in an infinite loop and you eventually get stack overflow.

So let me give you a better (and much shorter) solution that I eventually decided to use in my project:

from django.db.models import Field
org_init = Field.__init__
def new_init(self, *args, meta=None, **kwargs):
    self._meta = meta
    org_init(self, *args, **kwargs)
Field.__init__ = new_init

This code is super short, should not interfere with anything and definitely allows creation of custom field types.

This is causing unnecessary migrations.
