Melbourne CocoaHeads Website

The website for Melbourne's CocoaHeads community.

Usage

Everything you need to run the web site is in here. To preview it locally, run the script:

./scripts/preview.sh

This will start a local web server at http://localhost:1313. Any changes you make to the content will refresh the browser and update automatically.

Authoring and Editing

This site was built using Hugo, a framework for building lightweight, static websites. In a nutshell, content is written in markdown, then dressed up in HTML and CSS.

Deploying Changes

This website's deployed on GitHub Pages. If you would like to make a change, please make a pull request. When it is merged, a GitHub Action will deploy the change.

Add redirect from melbournecocoaheads.com/slack to real Slack URL

Currently, the URL https://melbournecocoaheads.com/slack is a 404. A lot of older slides and links across the net use that URL. It used to point to our slack invitation system. We can probably just forward it to the new URL, which is already on the site: https://join.slack.com/t/melbournecocoa/shared_invite/zt-85ixdbb8-1Wbqg4RB8KI93ccB~TqwHA
