@ManyTheFish I'm not sure this is a bug, let me know if I'm wrong. Because of bug we had with our filter format, we had force users escaping \ from v1.4.0

@exentrich it should work if you do [{ "body": "\\ud83d" }] instead

Because of bug we had with our filter format, we had force users escaping \ from v1.4.0.

It was related to the filters, not the documents route.

Try copy/pasting the body and put it in an online validator and I'm sure that it, indeed, requires some escaping.

triage note: serde_json error when trying to parse utf16, a workaround exists by converting utf16 codepoints into utf8.
note: this issue seems easy enough to be open to external contributions.
