pure-battery-analytics's Issues

Font color

Hello,
Would it be possible to change the main icon font color to black. The white is difficult to see.
Thank you!

Suggestion: Charge state-dependent notifications

I would like more options for when the program sends notifications.

For example, I have a notification set for when the battery is at 30%.

  • When my laptop is discharging and gets to 30%, sending me a notification is really useful, and lets me know to charge it.
  • If my laptop is at 27% and while charging it reaches 30%, I don't feel the need to know, since I plan to just keep charging it past that point.

So a setting of being notified while charging, while discharging, or both for each of the individual user-specified notification-associated percentages would be greatly appreciated.

What the window normally looks like:

What the window looks like when forcibly resized using ResizeEnable (a freeware tool for forcing non-resizable windows to be resized):

I noticed the smart outlet control feature hanging around when I was testing the ResizeEnable tool. Though I seriously doubt it causes any issues, I cannot imagine the feature is intended to be there. While I am able to enter text into the forms, it also does not seem to work*, which further suggests that it is not intended to be there.

I should add that it is visible no matter what tab is chosen. (Seen below:)

*[email protected] is a replacement for the actual email address associated with my TP-Link Kasa account. I determined that it did not work by using my real email, but changed it in the provided images so as to protect the privacy of my account.

To reproduce this issue:

  • I imagine you must be using Windows 11 or Windows 10. I am personally using Windows 11, version 23H2.
  1. Ensure Pure Battery Percentage Add-On is running, and was installed from the Microsoft Store.
  2. If not already installed, install ResizeEnable.
  3. Open ResizeEnableRunner.exe, found in the unzipped folder.
  4. Through the right-click menu on the taskbar item, open the Add-on Settings for the Pure Battery Percentage Add-On.
  5. Through the right-click menu on the new ResizeEnableRunner2 ico taskbar icon, Quit ResizeEnableRunner. (This is to prevent the Pure Battery Percentage Add-On Settings window from resizing properly, as is necessary for stationary capture(Note 1) of the issue. This does not negate the fact that there is still seemingly unintended content within the program.)
  6. Resize the Pure Battery Percentage Add-On Settings window by dragging the right size border out until the window is about 3 to 4 times its original width, or until the previously depicted TP-Link Kasa integration settings are visible.

Note 1: you can skip step 5 and move on to step 6 if you are satisfied with seeing the menu only while you are actively adjusting the window size and your Visual Effects Performance Options in Windows have Show window contents while dragging enabled. My Visual Effects Performance Options are depicted below:

[Request] Add Bluetooth battery level

Would it be possible to please add the battery level for Bluetooth devices like a headset? Currently, the only way to check that is to go to Windows Settings, and then to Devices to see the battery level there. It would be super if the user can choose which battery level to display in task bar. Thanks.

Pure Battery App Dependency

Thanks for the app. I really need a battery app to monitor hen my battery is full and when it has depleted to a certain level.

Please do we need to have the main Pure Battery app installed for this add-on to work?

Also my configuration is set at 20,30,90,100 BUT I still get notifications outside of these numbers. Is there a reason why?

Thanks

Impressive

Pure Battery Icon and Analytics is very impressive and useful. I will donate. Some observations:

  1. Display Font should default to system font for the date/time
  2. Option needed to match the icon for battery used by stylus apps
  3. Option needed to replace the icon used by stylus apps, e.g. Lenovo's, with a Pure version of same, but which updates periodically, not just when the stylus is used = Lenovo's fail
  4. Ability to move the system tray icon/text further to the right nearer the vendor's default position for battery indicator, next to date/time
  5. Horizontal, lying down, battery icons work better and can be larger and easier to read
  6. Lightning bolt outline, over battery icon, should indicate charging, and flashing red fill colour should indicate low battery, by default
  7. A new and different app icon is needed if you want to create app launcher, from the system tray, preferably with a vertical stack of apps rising up from this new icon when this new icon is selected. Dont bundle this functionality into a battery icon app.
  8. The UI for the app should be styled more like a Windows native app, it looks too much like the labels I made for my nasty home made wine.
  9. The analytics are awesome, and they deserve a lot of thought on presentation dashboarding.
  10. A battery life prediction model would be useful, with appropriate disclaimers, which updates based on cummulative usage behaviour.
  11. A Screenshot/bug/comment sender form might also be a great option, as I can't get GitHub to attach an image here, apologies

Unwanted notifications

Even though I set up the app to only notify when it falls below 35%, the app is consistently sending notifications every time the battery discharges/charges around 5%. It is certainly annoying and distracting, but I cannot seem to find a way to disable these unwanted notifications.

Poor resolution icon very difficult to read

Hi,
I had the PureBattery add on installed on my old windows 11 machine (which failed) and have just installed on my replacement new machine. The font on the task bar is very difficult to read - even though I have sent the colours (light theme, black font), size and other aspects. I don't recall this being an issue before (I was using a dark theme though) but it really spoils the effect of the add on... The battery charge is being rendered as a graphic, it seems, not a font... Any way to fix?

Horizontal offset stuck at 27

Hi I cannot edit horizontal offset, that is 0 by default. When I try to modify it (with any value), it immediately sets to 27 (?) and stuck. Colors and other two values works correctly.
Let me know... Thanks :)
