This app is under heavy development, things may change and break, but don't hesitate to test and fill issues in case you find bugs.

Firefox OS 2.2 and up are supported. Sadly 2.0 and 1.3 miss a lot of ES6 functionalities as well as CSS3 features (flexbox, etc) which break our application.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why does Hawk create an .empty file inside new folders I create?

This happens on Firefox OS devices below version 3, and that's because the API doesn't allow listing empty folders, in order to show you the folder, Hawk has to fake the folder to have a child.

Q: Why is Hawk slow?

Hawk is much faster on Firefox OS 3.0 and up, and that's because the way old Device Storage API works, it's slow by nature. Nothing we can do about it, sadly.

FTP Browser

I think it would be great to have an FTP browser, I'm just going to introduce a new api instead of files.js which handles the FTP connections, the methods and the API should work alike.

This is going to be implemented using mozTCPSocket API.

Make errors more verbose

Visual cue of the performed search

When a search is done, the only visual cue is the cross instead of the google. It would be helpful to give more info about. Maybe use the subheader to show the search terms.

Use Firefox OS style app header

It's usually fine to bring some personal touch to the app, but I think having a native header is really important, because it makes the app feel more integrated (the header is the most dominant element in the app, as it stands out the most).

I can submit a PR if you agree.

Btw, if you need any testing, feel free to ask me, I have a Flame device running the latest Firefox OS Nightly.

Negative file sizes

On some files, the file size is displayed with negative sign: -808B

Deprecate the repo

The Firefox OS project is long discontinued.

Clear Multiple selection when changing directory

When changing to another directory, the multiple selection is not clear.

Steps to reproduce:

• go to first dir, and make a multiple selection
• skip the selection, and go to another directory
• make a multiple selection of 2 items, then press "delete".

It says: are you sure you want to delete 5 items?

Samba support to access Windows files across network

This would also be cool to have in time :)

Back button

Currently, the only ways to navigate back are swiping (which most people are unfamiliar with) and clicking on breadcrumb (which has usability issues such as small tap area, and people are unfamiliar with, again).

I'd like to have a back button but I'm not sure where to put it, any ideas appreciated @nt1m @Sergio-Muriel

I don't have Fira Sans font, and your page is ridiculous for me. please include Fira Sans on your page.

Multiple sdcard support

The app should have the hability to toggle from one sdard to another.

Not browsing sdcard

I've installed on ZTE Open II (FxOS v1.3) and I can't browse SDcard nor extSDcard. If It's related to this:

Setup i18n

That would be a good idea if you implement the localisation settings.

Support zip/rar creation and extraction

Can you please add support for the common compression formats?

Long press on image

Whe doing a long press on an image, the popin with rename/copy options appear correctly, but then the image is opened.

Ability to choose archive's name

Use round app icon

Pretty much all Firefox OS apps have round icons. All square icons look really out of place on my homescreen :)
