subscribe2-for-cp's Issues

PHP Fatal error. Both manual and upload installation.

Greetings!,

First, thanks for developing this plugin!! Copying the plugin directory (or git cloning) into the plugin directory will crash the front-end of the website (not wp-admin area). No activation needed for this to happen. Screen goes white. See more below.

Running on a freshly installed classicpress test site with the default theme and no other plugins. No activation needed for the PHP Fatal error. Removing the plugin (deleting) fixes the issue. This effects the entire front-end but the wp-admin area and Subscribe2 settings pages in the admin interface works.

Note: I am digging into this bug but wanted to post this to help me track the issue.

Running Debian 10 with the most recent versions of PHP, Apache and MariaDB.

  • mariadb Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.3.29-MariaDB, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 5.2

  • PHP 7.3.27-1~deb10u1 (cli) (built: Feb 13 2021 16:31:40) ( NTS )

  • Zend Engine v3.3.27, Copyright (c) 1998-2018 Zend Technologies
with Zend OPcache v7.3.27-1~deb10u1, Copyright (c) 1999-2018, by Zend Technologies

  • Apache 2.4.38

Error as follows:

questions prior to install

  • what was readygraph? i assume this was some scheme to monetize the plugin which has since been removed?
  • is there any monetization scheme in use currently?
  • is the developer who implemented readygraph still involved in this project?

on another note...

last time i tested the plugin i don't recall that public subscribers were sent a mail to confirm their subscription - in the FAQs it says they are - can you confirm?

i don't wish to make people create a user/password for subscribing - in that vein, it would be great if public subscribers could choose categories - i know you don't wish to dynamically generate a page for the purpose, but i'm wondering if there's another way, such as craigslist does it by auto-generating a password string in the URL - could this be passes as a URL parameter to a static page?

typo...

"When they enter there address"
should be...
"When they enter their address"

thanks!

Reply-To E-Mail in CP Subscribe2

I'm using a multisite setup. I've already installed the ClassicPress SMTP plugin and configured it for the sites in the multisite network. However, when sending a mail from one of the sites, the reply-to e-mail address is that of the site admin, instead of the SMTP email specified in the CP SMTP plugin.
Can the reply-to email address be configured to be identical to the SMTP email when using Subscribe2?
I've tested the email sending with FluentForms and this issue isn't replicated there, which implies its a settings issue in Subscribe2, and not in the SMTP plugin.
Thanks for all the amazing work, hope this issue can be easily resolved.

Zip package does not contain main folder.

Every other classicpress plugin stores the source files inside a folder which is named after the plugin. When unzipping subscribe2-for-cp a "root" folder for the plugin is not create and all the source files go directly into the root folder. This goes agains the "how everyone else" does it.

classic-seo, azrcrv-smtp and others created actual folders to place the content of their plugin into while subscribe2 just dumps everything into the root of the plugins folder, which creates a bit of a mess.
