Install

npm install kill-on-exit --save

Use

var spawn = require("child_process").spawn;
var killOnExit = require("kill-on-exit");

Child process lives on after parent Uncaught Exception

I had this annoying experience just now, my parent process was throwing an uncaught exception, and terminating, but then the child process lives on (in the background too, the sneaky git).

I had to find it with ps aux | grep node and kill -9 {pid}.
