It would be nice to have a way to be able to associate certain web hooks with certain channels.

i.e. in Mattermost have the following channels:

• Issues
• Merge Requests
• Specific Project

Each with their own webhook... and then possibly change the gitlab endpoint to reflect that. Something like /new_event/<webhook code> maybe? That way you paste the webhook code into GitLab instead of as an environment variable in the integration script. If someone doesn't beat me to it I'll try and set that up tomorrow

if so what is required to get it up and running?

From the GitLab admin page you can add hooks for System events but they don't seem to work with this integration

@it33 @jwilander You are the main contributors of the project.

Are you familiar enough with python and tests in python to set up some tests ?

What I have in mind :

• JSON examples of data sent by hooks (I am not sure than gitlab documentation is up-to-date..)
• tox to test on multiple python versions
• decoupling of the web app so that each type of hook can be easily tested
