This is a base wordpress custom theme setup

Steps to set up

  • Set up a folder for your new wordpress project
  • Download the latest Wordpress zip from https://wordpress.com/, unzip in your wordpress project folder
  • Pull from this repository
  • Copy the files from this repository into your wordpress project and replace
  • Set up the DB for your wordpress project & replace the credentials in wp-config.development.php

Includes:

This theme set up includes the following plugins:

  • ACF Plugin
  • WP Migrate DB
  • WP Smush

This theme set up includes the following custom functions (functions.php):

  • Get user gravatar
  • Custom menu registration
  • Get excerpt of content
  • Get first image of content
  • Featured post meta checkbox
  • Facebook Open Graphs Tags
