fresh install doesn't work about xiv-on-mac

Ah, voodoo. I haven't actually logged in since Jan when my windows PC died so just assumed it needed my SE login.

After my force-quit-and-relaunch hijinx, logging in with the profile ID on my Square Enix account did get it to start downloading patches, hopefully just a waiting game now working like a charm 👍

Instead, we just put "DONE" in the top left corner and a close button.

Maybe something we can look into, but I will say it's probably the first time someones complained about it ever in year and 1/2 we've been around.

As far as this login error,

This is always accurate. as this is a message basically from Square Enix saying you typed your user/pass wrong. As far as I know, FF14 user accounts are not based on email and by user name. Example:

the problem is that popup window with installation pops back again as soon as you close it's blank version, and the process starts over again. If you press Cancel there, then the whole app shuts down. So I can't even reinsert credentials to check if they are incorrect

app's log says that the app can't write to xiv folder but it's not true, because when you delete all the xiv files, they appear right back. I even gave it full disk access in os setting

Is there a way to wipe the app clean from the system? Because when I reinstall it, it seems to keep all it's settings

UPD:
found a solution. I launched app under another user and it told me that I could hold shift during launch to cancel auto-login. It helped to stop the endless installation loop

I found what the problem was...

I used to play the game using xivonmac long time ago and it worked fine. Then a couple of months later I renamed my user directory to a shorter name using the official guide. Every other app just accepted the change except xiv on mac, it seems. Maybe it stored the hard path somewhere in settings(never managed to find those). So all this time it was unsuccessfully trying to write game installation files at the old path, while at the same time creating wine files at the new one. I went on and recreated my old user name directory. Xivonmac then downloaded like 70gigs of game files and is now working fine.
How do I wipe app's settings btw? Deleting "~/Library/Application Support/Xiv On Mac" doesn't help
