GitHub Pages

Might be fun project to try create a GitHub page web app.

The app should be able to check via localStorage since the last time you checked the app and if there are any new podcast episodes out.

Should be able to bookmark/favourite a podcast.

Any other ideas/suggestions?

Useful information

I'm trying to think of a way to improve this list with some useful hints that a regular might require.

Particularly some points that stand out to me:

  • Podcasts can be really good in providing transcripts and a list of mentioned links, which can be very useful or even necessary (Accessibility)
  • Some links are to networks and would be better split up to their individual podcasts
  • Some podcasts appear to have active communities (such as a Slack team or a forum)
  • A podcast may offer ways of suggesting episodes, guests and topics to talk about on their website, which is pretty awesome I think
  • Podcasts can have various distribution and notification channels, from RSS to iTunes
  • I noticed some podcasts can work in a series of episodes (Motion and Meaning) rather than a live/frequent broadcast

I also wonder if there is a way to use Badges for scraping the activity of a podcast somehow? This would be great IMHO, e.g. latest update/episode

Update

I've been getting back into podcasts recently! Lots to binge and catch up on

  • Are there any new additions?
  • Podcast status – see if they are alive and kicking
  • Review descriptions for accuracy/rewrite

Newer additions:

Designer vs. Developer

Designer vs. Developer aims to provide take aways, solutions to workflows, tools & discussions on everyday struggles.

(Easy to listen to as a podcast – video is bonus for body language if it helps)
