oddly, it highlights ok with the old sass tmbundle:

Not valid CSS. That's why I mentioned interpolation (what you're doing with #{}). Just letting you know it doesn't work with the old sass bundle, you see the white color and the blue highlight on border?

The difference is that this bundle highlights invalid css (anything other than valid css statements, thus you getting errors).
