Feature Request - Edit Museum Donations

Any way to change the person associated with a museum donation?

If you use the editor and change a player character's name it changes all donations on the board to say the new name. In game, if you demolish a house (delete the player), the donation board now says "Anonymous" for the donations from that player. So I imagine it must link back to the Player ID per donation, and should be something we could point towards a different player character.

I would also imagine from here you could use this to add/delete donations, giving the ability to clear the museum and start donating again.

Missing Feature

The Export Map feature is missing... Can you re-add it, please?

Saving grass maps

Hey Marc! I'm so grateful for this project; it really eliminates the unnecessary stress of having to worry when some new meaty looking villager moves in over your hybrids. (And it allows for more town creativity).

One thing I was so happy of was the new grass map feature and it sure works, but there's one problem. After injecting an edited grass map, the next day the game gobbles it up again. I don't think this part is fixable since it must be within the game's internal data, but this issue isn't anything new, since it has always happened with the Revive grass option. However, that was easy to fix since it restored the grass at a few clicks.
The new grass map feature is great but I only wish there were a way to save and import grass maps we'd like to keep so that we don't have to draw it again every day. It just seems a bit confusing to have to save an entire old map which has your grass pattern to import over your new one when you can simply save the grass map as its own internal thing.
This isn't urgent since there is a way around it and I know you're busy (take your time!), but it would be much more convenient to just have the grass map on my desktop and be able to import it onto my new save. Just to avoid accidentally overriding my old map when I backup the game in Homebrew, which contained the grass map I wanted to keep (I can easily see myself doing this because of my inattentiveness and then it'll just hit me afterward like oh SHIT). Thanks!

New PWP button

Hi, can you please release a version where you can add buildings and/or both police stations? I know you did not because of issues that happened sometimes but can you upload it as a use at your own risk download?

If I get issues I always have a old save to get into the game again.

tl;dr, please put up pwp builder version as use at your own risk optional download.

Invalid garden.dat File

After the latest update, I can't import garden.dat files anymore. Is this a bug or have you stopped support for garden.dat files?

Placing Bridges

Bridges are greyed out in the 'Add Building' menu. I have one left in-game, and Isabelle is only giving me the option to demolish a PWP or redesign the station/hall. I think this is probably because at one point in the hack I had three, but then demolished two assuming I could move them. What am I missing here?

Villagers' catchphrases in wrong language.

I tried changing the villagers in Korean version of Animal Crossing: New Leaf Welcome amiibo. I left the default settings. They seem to change okay, but their catchphrases change to the English version instead of Korean.

2DS updated to 11.9 on its own??

So I'm not sure when 11.9 dropped but I might have missed something about whether or not it updates when turned off. I play new leaf a LOT, so the battery usually gets drained and I have to charge. Then again, I turn off my 2ds after exporting my saves and before taking the sd card out. So I'm just wondering if you would be able to fix this issue to your best ability (if possible) because I have 3 ugly villagers I want to replace, a lack of flowers, you name it. Thanks!!

11.6 Problem

Is there a way to make this work on 11.6? Is there something I'm missing? I wanted to help my friend out with this and I've hacked my 3DS before but after 11.6 my soundhax stopped working (they probably patched it...). Is there still a way to use this application? Please someone respond soon!

Red Screen ACNL: Amiibo

Hello! I have used your editor before the Amiibo update. I used JK's save manager to dump my game files. Now it updated I tried using your apps: the red one and the purple one to dump my game files but those didn't recognize my game. The save_manager presented me a red screen, as well as JKSM and other SM's I could use. Can you help me? Where should I ask for help? Thank you!

After 5 minutes or so, I am unable to get any click response

Specifically on the website version. I will type in an item name to drop onto the map, inventory, etc. The spaces where I click to add the item stop responding completely with certain items, such as 'towel' for example. Sometimes it just stops on it's own for no real reason as well. I go to click and then the hover over grey box that usually shows what the item your cursor is over it goes way off, generally over to the right and just displays a random thing or string of numbers and then I can't do anything at all unless I save, refresh, drop in the newer .dat file, then it does the same thing all over again after a short amount of time or doesn't work at all again. I am using chrome, I have Tampermonkey, ABP, Youtube Ad Block, Stylish (Disabled), Website Blocker, and Buyee's tool. Any advice besides using Firefox would be helpful. I will try it anyways, but heads up.

Changing TPC pic i know that you literally added that like 10 minutes ago. My problem is i edited the pic i wanted to be 64x104 pixels under 4 kb and it still dosent work im wondering if it has to lower than 4kb on the disk.

Player nicknames

It seems that there is no option to change the nicknames that the villagers give you. I noticed this because I changed a villager, and the new villager used the nickname the old villager had for me, even though I checked the "set to default" option when changing the villager. I'm ok without it, since it can be changed through normal gameplay, but you may want to add that option in a future release.

Villager house issue

Ever since Chief moved out one time (assigned as Villager 1) (which I assumed would be an easy replacement), his house being Villager 1 never disappeared on the editor, and although I can set the character to live in that house and place its coordinates the house never shows up in the game.
How can I remove the villager 1 house from the editor and then add a new one back to refresh the scrambled data, and would that be safe?

How to add/remove buildings correctly

Hey, so there's currently an issue with adding and removing PWPs that can end up breaking peoples saves due to invalid building amounts. The game assume there's 58 town PWP Slots where there's actually 56 Town PWP Slots and 2 Event PWP Slots (i.e. ones on the town plaza).
The Event PWP Slots should not be used and should be kept free. Or it should be implemented correctly so that only Event PWPs can go in those slots and it uses the Event PWPs amount byte.

As seen here in my WIP save structure, the Town PWPs and Event PWPs each have their own byte for the amount of them currently in the save.

Also, it'd probably be a good idea to recalculate how many buildings the user has (i.e. how many of the buildings aren't 0xFC) upon saving, or instead of reading the value, just calculate how many they have when loading the save rather than reading from the save. It'll fix saves that might have been previously broken and prevent this very common issue.

Catalog editing?

Hey there,

Just wanted to say thank you and great job on the editor. I was just wondering if you plan to implement editing of the Nookling catalog (or at least the ability to instantly fill it in with every possible entry). Would be a handy feature. Either way, the editor is fantastic and I in no way mean to come off as ungrateful or entitled. Just curious if this feature is in the pipeline for a possible future update.

The downloaded version won't load while the online version perfectly does.

I do not know if this is somehow an issue with my computer / google chrome version, but whenever I download this file and then I use it. It never allows me to load up a save file, it seems like it's trying to find "maintenance.html" and other files when there clearly isn't. Could you please fix this? Or is this an issue with only my version?

Edit: I have found out that this issue only happens with Google Chrome.

[Feature request] Import grass from image

Hello! This is more of a feature request than an issue.

I know you can import grass from another save and also there's the grass editor itself, but I want to know if there's a way to import grass from an image to the canvas used in the grass editor.
Currently you can only edit grass from 100% to 0% despite there being varying grass degradation ingame.

I'd like to make dirt roads like in main street since making them with patterns is painful and doesn't even look that good, but it's hard doing them with the editor for those reasons. (The grass ends up being too blocky) -- Being able to choose from a different transparency level/brush size in the editor, or importing from an image would fix this.

I loaded up my game to see what they were 36b1 was "Callie shirt" and 36b2 was "Marie shirt" they were both hung on the wall

Feature Request - Hidden values

I was wondering if there's any way to read some of the values in the game that aren't visible. For example, how many weeds a player has pulled out so far, or how many fish or bugs they have caught. This would make it a lot simpler for completionists (who don't feel like cheating a badge in) to gauge how close they are to their goal!

I love this acnl-editor, but i can't fill the catalog, in game there is nothing happens. My catalog is still empty :( Why ? Everything else works correctly

No Villager 1 and invisible house that crashes game + feature request

I've had this problem since October and I've re-opened the issue since I may have found a solution.
Basically, I have an invisible house.

According to the editor, this building is 'Villager 1', but I have no Villager 1.

So this is a building with an unassigned villager that I have no way of removing. Upon tapping its icon or opening up the side panel to view the list of villagers in my town, the whole game crashes.

My solution is adding a feature to force-remove a building (with an "Only use if there is something wrong with a building and its data" note). I'm not sure if in this case there will be any leftover data since there's nothing associated with this invisible house other than 'Villager 1' which I don't have. Because of that, there's no way to 'move out the villager' in the house if there isn't one.
If there's a F12 Javascript way of force-removing this building that'd be nice too but I'm illiterate in Java.

Unable to download & save .dat file??

So I've been having no problems with the save manager up until now, where whenever I click "save changes" instead of downloading the new garden_plus.dat I get a pop-up that says "how do you want to open this file?" I'm not sure what happened to cause this, but clicking anything else gives me a pop-up that says "this file can't be opened on your computer." This issue worries me especially since I have other games on my computer that use .dat files to store save data and whatnot. Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated!!

Multiple PWPs in the RAM editor but not in-game?

Basically, I've been having this weird problem recently where when I start a new PWP, Lloyd turns invisible when I leave the screen by entering a house, going to Main Street or just saving. When I go to the next day, he's gone completely whereas previously I still collided with him.

So after a seemingly random number of attempts, they began showing up as normal. But when I check my town in the Editor, it shows all the attempts I made to build them along the side.

You can see it here. Any suggestions about what I can do? Can I delete them in the editor or anything? Another thing but it's less of a problem, I randomly have my 4th bridge working again, but I can't change it to anything other than Northwest by Southeast. I'd like to have it just be North to South if I can. Let me know what you think. Cheers.

Non Existent Villager 8 House Crashes ACNL

So i've had this problem for quite some time that Villager 8's house doesn't show up under the "Villagers" or "Building" tab on the ACNL Save Editor

I mean, it would be fine if it just didn't just show up and that was all that happened but it's not, my savefile refues to even boot up and take me to the home screen of the game, it crahes during the first loading sequence.

I'm unsure if the house shows up on the town map as i haven't been able to start the game to check, thankfully i have backups ready for use but i thought this would be worth reporting.

ACNL save editor website does not load

I just stumbled upon a problem and I was wondering if you could help me. After selecting the garden_plus file, the website usually loads to the actual editing page, however, when I selected my latest file just now, the website didn't load any further. In other words, nothing happens after having selected the file. I was wondering what might have caused this.

Sanrio Sets

Sanrio sets and sanrio characters as well as the new items do not appear on the save editor. what seems to be the problem? i'm on 9.8.0 do i need to update?

Japanese language support

I know you've said in other threads you don't have time to work on updates right now, but at some time in the future, an option for Japanese item/villager names would be very much appreciated!

Item ID list is missing some items

The save editor is missing some Item IDs, mainly wall variants of songs and clothing, and art.
The Custom Pattern Item IDs and also Item Sprites are also missing. Also the cedar with an egg (just before xmas/festive lights cedar) is also missing.

Here's a list of alot of the missing Item IDs (Or here's the full file).

Also, for consistency with the list aswell as save editors for previous AC games and to also make it easier for people to name them, the rocks and weeds should probably use letters beside their names rather than numbers.

e.g.

"weed"      ->  "weed (A)"
"weed (2)"  ->  "weed (B)"
"weed (3)"  ->  "weed (C)"
"weed (4)"  ->  "weed (D)"

import/export

i cant export my map and according to the stuff in the acnl editor source stuff it says i can and not only that it say si can import old garden.dat maps. buts not doing. how can i export my garden_plus.dat map now?? i dont see it anywhere

I'm confused

I'm not sure if this forum is for the acnl editor, but in case it is I have the game in citra on the pc but after starting the game and editing it on the page, paste the edited game does not let me play it and I He says that we have to erase it, I only put money and I do not know why it is. Can someone help me?

[Info/Fix?] Grass deterioration preview

Haven't used the editor for a while and noticed the grass map preview. I did some research on how the grass addresses work and made an explanation here: http://imgur.com/a/1DCgq
Tinkering just a bit with the code I managed to get it working correctly for my save file using the MAP_GRASS_PREVIOUS offset and changing width and length from (5,4) to (8,6). I also made the canvas a bit bigger.

Cyrus customizables without having to use Cyrus?

I can tell it's definitely possible since I have a few box sofa/box sofa corners in my basement that I customized to be black by Cyrus.
They do have a 'custom' hex flag available but the only problem is I'm not real knowledgeable in coding so I wouldn't know where to start on how to list the available customizations for the item proper in-game terms, not hex code.
My two box sofas facing right are black and have a 'custom' hex flag of 50. The others facing up have 90 and one facing left has d0.
Actually so it makes more sense I made a gif of the 6 sofas with the hex flags.

Another example is my customized lightly-toasted marshmallow chair has a 'custom' hex of 10 and the burned marshmallow chair has 90.
I understand it may take a while but might we be able to see some work on this in the future? I doubt it's impossible. It would just make my life hell of a lot easier because I accidentally overrode all the work I did customizing over the past week because I misclicked the 'import' button on my save manager. Whoops. I've been meaning to ask about this for a while but what happened to me really just sparked my motivation to do it.

Autosave please!

It would be really good to have a local storage to auto save the data in case you get kicked out.
We've accidentally pressed back and lost all our work.
I'll try to add this if I get time soon.

Dock not shown on save editor!

I’ve reinstalled Homebrew, updated the game, my DS, cleansed my SD card. When I load my garden.dat onto the save editor, the dock is lost in translation and you are prevented from spawning one in.

Anyone have any idea how this is happening, or how I spawn a dock? Since, now, I cannot replace my garden.dat or the game will crash without a dock.

Bug with the Eye Color drop-down menu

I actually don't know if this was a problem before, but Numbers 6 and 7 on the eye color drop-down menu do not show any color of their own. If I were to click 2 (the green eye color) and then clicked on 6 or 7, 6 or 7 would also show up as green. They just end up taking on the color of the previous eye color that was selected.

ex. 2 (green) -> 6 -> 7 = green
ex. 2 (green) -> 7 -> 6 = green

ex. 5 (sky blue) -> 6 -> 7 = sky blue
ex. 5 (sky blue) -> 7 -> 6 = sky blue

Numbers 0-5 are working fine though.
According to http://animalcrossing.wikia.com/wiki/Eye_Color_Guide there's supposed to be 9 eye colors total but the last three don't look any different from some of the first 6 in the chart so I'm not sure if 6 and 7 are just extras that were left there.

ACNL Save Manager Cannot Find Game?

So I recently had to update my Homebrew to v2.0.0 since my console updated to version 11.9.0-42U. I installed the ACNL Save Editor to the correct folder, but when I open the ACNL Save Manager, it says "The application you attempted to run requires a title that is not installed in the system." When I try to use JK's Save Manager, it gets stuck on the yellow screen.

Any reason why this may be? The cartridge is inserted in the system.
