These are my dotfiles. Take anything you want, but at your own risk. It mainly targets macOS systems

On a fresh Mac

sudo softwareupdate -i -a
xcode-select --install

The Xcode Command Line Tools includes git and make (not available on stock macOS)

/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"

Installs Homebrew

Setup steps

1. chmod +x install.sh
2. export DOTFILES_PATH=<Path you cloned this repo>
3. ./install.sh

Managing environment variables (env vars)

1. Copy zsh/example_local_env.zsh to zsh/local_env.zsh
2. Edit zsh/local_env.zsh (remove examples and add your env vars) NB: Be sure to edit zsh/local_env.zsh instead of ~/.zshrc directly. This is because ~/.zshrc is a symbolic link to zsh/zshrc
3. Update DOTFILES_PATH in zsh/zshrc
4. Run ./install.sh

NB: You have to run install script everytime a change is made to local_env.zsh

Install applications

Requires homebrew to be installed

1. chmod +x brew.sh
2. ./brew.sh
