If you activate a checkpoint on a level, then time travel, you don't start the next stage at the beginning like you would otherwise. This persists if you time travel many times in a row, and your position in the level appears to be relative to the checkpoint got.

This can often place the character in a wall or other unintended area, or into a loop of repeated instant death and reloading, until you return to the main menu and load the save. The savefile is only updated on finising a level and not when time travelling, so while this can be several levels back, it at least mitigates the issue.

I believe clearing the checkpoint data on a time travel should be all that's necessary to resolve the issue.
