android_device_xiaomi_aries's Issues

MHL

I know it is mentioned in the op, I thought it is a good idea to write it here also

Poor WiFi upload speed

When running an FTP or HTTP server, the maximum upload speed is about 190KB/s. Tested with various FTP server (MiXplorer, FTPServer...) and HTTP server apps (MiXplorer, Airdroid...), 3 different PCs, FTP clients and OSs (Win7 and Ubuntu Studio).
It works well in MIUI rom (around 2MB sustained).

The speed in transfers with WiFi-Direct (for example SHAREit application) is very good (around sustained 6MB/s)

Mic and button doesn't work with Xiaomi Piston earphone

I got the original Xiaomi Piston earphone (not the new 2.0 one, but I don't think it would make any difference on this issue)

With the latest m1cha build (2014-02-14), I found that mic doesn't work (well, I never really tried to use it before so I can't say it's the latest build caused this bug) And the buttons doesn't work as they're expected:
volume+ button: not working [in CWM recovery I can see key code is 258]
volume- button: works, but acts as volume+ [key code 257]
center button: not working [key code 256]

maybe related to issue #24

Remove closed apps from recents

Is it possible to make apps that were force closed, to be removed from recents? For example:

  • I have 3 programs in my recents, and I open a new one.
  • Then, I force close that newly opened app by long pressing back button
  • When I open the recents again, I don't want to see the force closed app in the recents.

I know that in development menu there is an option that makes possible force closing an app in the recents, by long pressing the app's icon in recents window. But what if I "only" want to see the "running" apps in recents, but not the ones that were opened and force closed afterwards.

Is there any option to do that?

about build cm-11

hello M1cha, because of wanna add my own translation to cm-11 (I have try to push it to cm official but they want me use a translation website and it is too slow and translation is bad), so I want to build it by myself.
and I git clone your device tree to cm11/device/xiaomi/aries, and kernel to cm11/kernel/xiaomi/aries
and proprietary to the cm11/vendor/xiaomi/aries.

and use : . build/envsetup.sh
brunch aries

and it finished, but when I flash it into my phone, it always in the booting animation.
what does it wrong?

thanks.

Wired headset buttons cause no reaction.

I have a Mi2S 32GB bought directly from xiaomi.
I also own a wired headset from xiaomi as well, which is working fine with the MIUI rom (ok, it's not the best, but it's working... :-) )
When plugged in the phone using this rom, I can hear the sound through it, but pressing the buttons has no effect.
I even tried watching the logcat, but I couldn't notice any change in it when pressing the buttons on the headset.

Italian operator TIM is shown as Telecom Italiz SpA

I believe there are two mistakes, here:

  1. The typo: Italiz should be Italia
  2. The company 'Telecom Italia SpA' is running the landline phones, in Italy, the mobile operator is TIM (http://www.tim.it), on almost all other phones, it is shown as "I TIM" ("I" stands for Italy).

btw, TIM is not just a brand, it's the largest mobile operator in Italy, with its own network.

Phone sound calls to high

Release of 03/12
Issue: speaker sound in a call it's to high and the volume control + - doesn't change the sound even in the lowest.

Force close duration 2.60 seconds

I calculated by timer, that it takes 2.60 seconds to long press back button to close an ongoing app. That's not an appropriate time. It has to be 1 seconds or less. Isn't there any option to decrease time for long pressing back button?

Low volume

The volume from speaker is not enough, and other apps like DNS manager do not work properly

Display Issue

lagging while drawing the top of the screen(about half of the status bar) on 0227 build
you would notice this by rotate the screen 90 degrees and pull down QS or just play video in any player.

flashing

sorry for the quality of the image... there was no time for my camera ;)

No Force Close by Long Pressing Back

I'm using [ROM][KK][4.4][2014-05-18] CyanogenMod 11.0.
I loved force close option by long pressing back button under screen. But here, in buttons menu, it is absent. Is it possible to integrate it too?

PDroid Patch

I have the issue, that when i use the openPDroid patch from autopatcher(v3.8.3), the com.android.systemui allways crache. At the moment I use cm11-20131229 and it works fine. I have also tried to wipe the data partition but it doesn't help.

I have a MI2.

missing kernel feature to support android-wired-tether

i know, android comes with native tethering but android-wired-tether has some useful and needed options like configuration for network class etc.
it would be nice, if if you could build future roms with the missing kernel options (see below)
thx

---------------- http://code.google.com/p/android-wired-tether/ ----------------
Why do I get the message "Unsupported Kernel" on startup?
This means that the Linux kernel on your device does not have the features (CONFIG_NETFILTER/CONFIG_IP_NF_IPTABLES and/or RNDIS) required for tethering.

Iphone headset, mic doesn't work

Hello,

I am using your Rom, but the mic of my iPhone headset doesn't work.

I can hear my caller, but he can't hear me.

Used this headset before with miui and it worked fine there.

No Dev Tools app

I'm using [ROM][KK][4.4][2014-05-18] CyanogenMod 11.0

I have found DevTools app in settings/apps list (about 120kB), but I can't find it in apps. I tried to add it to desktop, but in the app list that could be added to desktop, it was absent. How can I find and open it?

wifi can't connect, phone reboots when turning wifi on/off

After the 21/1 update, phone seems to be not able to connect to certain wpa2 protected wifi network. In settings -> wifi it tries to connect repeatedly, failing on "obtaining IP address" message.

Another problem, maybe related to this, is reboot of the phone when wifi is turned off/on manually. System just shuts off after maybe ten seconds after switching wifi back on.

Dual Boot Enabled?!

I can't access to my other system while in CM. I tried to enter power menu, but the reboot options are not like the one in MIUI, I don'e see reboot to other system there, even though I've enabled advanced reboot in developer options.

I also tried to enter to other system in CWM, but it also wasn't possible to reboot to other system there (I entered to other system in CWM, and pressed reboot now there).

External Memory cant access

Using:

Xiaomi Mi2s
32GB

Cant Access to my external SD memory

Camera wont open -apparently because of this-
Gallery wont open because of this (See attached photo)
Voice recordings wont work for same reason.

Have tried factory reset
Wipe cache (both types)

Lowpass filter / Very aggressive noise reduction on camera audio.

The audio recorded by the video camera is muffled and of low quality. MIUI Rom used to have the same audio problem but they fixed in recent versions of MIUI v5 but I don't know if the issue is a kernel one or some config file edit.

Probably it's a low priority issue but just writing this to be fixed eventually.

Telephone rilj wakelook and battery drain.

With 15/11 27/11, experimental And 30/11 release i have an battery drain causes by rilj.
Normaly after a clean flash (with cache And data wipes) all works ok until the first reboot, after that telephone rilj apears And doesn't stop until a wipe cache data flash, if i do a flash with justo wipe cache the rilj is there.

Camera+Torch+Black Screen outgoing call

Hey, I flashed the 13.11.13 release on my MI2 with bootfix, wlanfix and gapps but camera and torch aren't still working and whenever I make a call the screen turns to black and I must wait for the call to end (or remove battery)

Headset button doesn't work

Hi,
I installed the latest version of your port (cm-11-20140319-UNOFFICIAL-aries.zip).
I switched from cofface's version because your's is updated more frequently and based Nexus 4.

Fact is, my headphone button doesn't work no more (no play/pause etc.).
Sound and microphone work fine though, and if the option is checked CM also launches the music player.
I know this was brought up for former version, just thought I'd confirm it still doesn't work.

Can not open voice message in WeChat

I am using the 20140518 version, just flashed it the other day and it work perfectly until I found this problem today. When I open the voice message that send from my friend in WeChat, it remian silence and fc within few second, I don't know what's wrong, please help me fix it, I am pretty rely on this app. Thanks.

YouTube video are not working

YouTube video on MI2S are not working with CM11.0.

The video is buffering and the phone restart before the video beging

Latest update 27/11 -> The camera is not working well

(MI2 32G, Same camera as yours M1cha)
When trying to take a shot of close object the flash get stuck when trying to focus and camera won't respond any more.
After that,if you try to open the camera from the lock-screen you won't be able connect to the camera any more. And the only way to fix it is to wipe dalvik cache.
Other then that, amazing work, as always!

Audio not working well

Update last release (2014_02_14).
Other people can't hear me clearly in call.
Some APP crash when using audio function, like Wechat

Tethering doesn't work

I have another issue, with tethering/hotspot. I have Vodafone IT (Italy) and with MIUI all worked (obviously because MIUI is 4.1.1 and Google start block tethering on 4.1.2),but now, the tethering doesn't work. I also try with Free Tethering Fix and ISWAT Tether Unlocker.

Spontaneous reboots

I'm encountering rare reboots on both 1403 and 1903 builds
M2S 32Gb

I have a feeling phone reboots at incoming call or SMS as I've got reported that I was "unavaible" at same tiems I've encountered few of that. And probability of reboot is higher in area when connection is not very good.

Bluetooth toggle

Long press on the Bluetooth toggle cause FC if Bluetooth is off

Cm 11 (30/11/13 Build) Reboot

Reboot when use adb shell screenrecord

Joystick Compatibility

In original MIUI device can detect joystick, then I can use Tincore Keymapper and GameKeyboard normally.
But in your cm 11 device cannot detect it. Maybe USB OTG kernel should be fixed.

in call echo issue (v2014-01-03)

Hi,
since last CM11 update other people hear their echo really loud in call and it is almost impossible to understand me. Is there a possibility to fix it for the moment or is a downgrade more recommended?

device: Mi2 32GB

Charging with PC USB port not working

I guess this can be related to OTG/MHL lack

I had phone on 23%, connected to PC, after some time it was 14%
No charge icon appears

Bug is inconsistent, reboot can temporary fix the issue.

Phone is not charging untill reboot

Sometimes phone decides not to charge from anything.
This is not very nice to find that phone was discharging all night and now you have 7% left.

It successfully gets connected to PC, I can access files, but no charge indication is seen. Phone discharges while being connected.
Connecting to power adapters make no effect either. Phone discharges while being connected.

After phone reboot it starts charging from any source.
