Hey, just wanted a confirmation that I am on the right track.

I chose this concept because I liked the idea of using the squares with the letters to create larger squares. I think it makes for a fun and interesting design using only CSS. I chose Open sans because it’s bold, sans serif, has a lot of options, and made for a nice contrast against the decorative font permanent marker. I based the choice of type scale on making the boxes fit nicely and proportionately to one another. I wanted to have the three larger boxes end up being as close to the same size as possible so I fiddled with the type sizes until it got there. Since I felt like my design was very youthful and fun I chose colours accordingly. I chose colours that were bright and beachy, and I think they worked really nicely together. I definitely feel like I took good advantage of the grids and modular CSS, I used grids to make the letters and words fit nicely into their boxes, and then another grid to hold the three larger boxes. This kept everything nice and equal. I used the modules, typography and grid tools anywhere I could, only using my main CSS page for colours, media queries, and fonts. I definitely struggled to get the letters and words to line up nicely in their boxes, it took a lot of fiddling but eventually they got there, and also trying to get the design to continue looking okay as the screen size changed.
