'Whichever license you plan to use, the process involves adding two elements to each source file of your program: a copyright notice (such as “Copyright 1999 Terry Jones”), and a statement of copying permission, saying that the program is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (or the Lesser GPL).'
License file describes who licensed the software, the copyright and where one can find further details, i.e. the whole License file is about the software and its creator.
'You should also include a copy of the license itself somewhere in the distribution of your program. All programs, whether they are released under the GPL or LGPL, should include the text version of the GPL'
gpl.txt describes the full terms and conditions of GPL license, and is provided as requested in here.
It's complicated, true. But probably that's what the GPL guys want us to do 👻

@LordAmit I do not want to listen them always. 👻

@zdroid nevertheless, that's what they want us to do. It's better to be careful, right? 👻

What if we just keep the License file and keep a link to online gpl.txt?

Including a copy of the license with the work is vital so that everyone who gets a copy of the program can know what his rights are.
It might be tempting to include a URL that refers to the license, instead of the license itself. But you cannot be sure that the URL will still be valid, five years or ten years from now. Twenty years from now, URLs as we know them today may no longer exist.
The only way to make sure that people who have copies of the program will continue to be able to see the license, despite all the changes that will happen in the network, is to include a copy of the license in the program.
