Alternatives to Universal Silent Voice

OBSE -Elys- Universal Silent Voice

VoiceFile Redirector OBSE Plugin v1.2

OBSE plugin to redirect missing voicefiles to other locations. Based on Elys_USV. Version 1.0 expands on elys_usv.dll functionallity with the following: If no voicefiles are present, it first tries to substitute the imperial race in the voice filename to find a match. If none present, it will try to detect if current dialog is a greeting and then redirect to a generic greeting based on race and sex of speaker. If both fail, it will fallback to elys_usv.mp3 if present.

It is a modified version of the original.

Add rules for COC + OCC-OCR Patch.esp

In light of those changes, which I was not made aware of, the following file needs to be handled in some way:

COC + OCC-OCR Patch.esp

It'll need a rule to enforce loading after ClocksOfCyrodiil.esp and BEFORE any of the Open Cities .esp files. This is a standard patch file and not a replacer. Something which should have been the case 10 years ago, but hey.

Probably goes without saying that this patch file is NOT compatible with the Clocks of Cyrodiil replacer the BC mod is distributing. Mine relies on Willie Sea's original file.

ClocksOfCyrodiil.esp as a master, so that's already covered for LOOT.

BEFORE any of the Open Cities .esp files

Easiest way to achieve that is by moving ClocksOfCyrodiil.esp and COC + OCC-OCR Patch.esp to an earlier group. I'll add a new group to place it before most mods and after DLC and Unofficial patches.

  • Sort before all Open City modules.
  • Incompatible with Better Cities Clocks of Cyrodiil replacer.

For Hud Status Bars.esp Loot says "This plugin requires "../obse_loader.exe" to be installed but it is missing".

I am running the steam version of ESIV, so have obse_steam_loader.exe, and not obse_loader.exe installed and HSB appears to be working as expected: e.g. I get the extra encumbrance status bar HSB installs by default, and modifications I make to HSB's ini file show up in game.

Similar to my recent commits for the Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas masterlists, I'll be going through the Oblivion masterlist and replacing repeated messages by aliases to common message anchors.

Repeated Messages

  • A modding esm - do not use in game, deactivate.
  • This needs to load directly after Oblivion.esm to avoid landscape issues caused by a failure by the mod author to use TES4Gecko''s "Move Worldspaces" function.

I ran into the following issue: LOOT puts Sounds of Cyrodiil.esp after Better Impercial City.esp which results in issues. For example in the Arena district, where the entrance to the arena is, the floor is raised relative to the arena effectively making it impossible to enter the Arena. Once I manually moved Better Imperial City.esp to follow Sounds of Cyrodiil.esp this issue was fixed. I noticed similar pieces of raised floor (looks like ground/dirt, where normally in the IC the floor should look like cobblestone) in other IC areas with the incorrect ESP order. Note that BOSS seems to order things fine (it creates a drastically different ESP order where all the Better Cities ESPs are clustered around at the end of the mod list, just before Bashed Patch.esp).

Metadata for Storms & Sound.esp doesn't take esp renaming into account.

Storms and Sound v3 lightning for all weathers

Important: to use the patches you need to rename your esp to
Storms & Sound.esp
It doesn't matter which version you're using, rename the esp, make a clean save and activate the esp with the new name.

With this ESP, the water in the eastern district of Leyawiin will be raised as originally designed by Bananasplit, and boardwalk pathways will be enabled.
If you have toggled Leyawiin to be Open, then this file is not needed at all, the Open version of Leyawiin cannot be flooded due to game engine limitations.

Optional - Better Cities - VWD of the IC.esp

ONLY use this if you are certain that your computer can handle a severe hit to FPS. Disable if the game becomes sluggish when near or when looking at the Imperial City from afar. Intended for use with Better Imperial City.esp
With this ESP, every new building and tree which BC adds to the IC Districts will be visible from outside the city walls (whether you can see them over the walls depends upon where you are). If you use a mod like Really Almost Everything Visible When Distant or similar, then these buildings will also all be visible when viewed from afar. You will need to run TES4LODGen to actually make the buildings visible when distant, the ESP merely places the buildings for TES4LODGen to detect them.
NOT recommended for heavily modded games, but should be great for taking screenshots.

ONLY use this if you intend to toggle one or more cities to be Open.

Optional - Better Imperial City FPS Patch.esp

These ESPs remove clutter and plants from the IC Waterfront District, in an attempt to improve FPS.
Do not install these unless you need them, as they detract from the intended appearance of the Waterfront.

Optional - Better Cities - IC Imperial Isle.esp

This ESP adds the outer walls for the Aristocratic District to the Tamriel worldspace, raising the land height to match that found when within the district. The Arena District walls are extended to match the changes within the district. The aqueduct is added linking the Imperial Isle to the mainland, and the quest to restore the city’s water supply is enabled.
These edits are kept in a separate optional ESP so that if other mods conflict you can simply disable these changes without losing the actual city content.
You will need to run TES4LODGen to make the aqueduct Visible When Distant, otherwise it will just be cut off at the border of the furthest-loaded cell in your game.

Optional - Better Cities - COBL.esp

Requires Cobl Main.esm from Cobl.
This is an integration file, not a patch, and is NOT required if you use Cobl. Some items added by BC are also found in Cobl, this ESP will tell the game to treat identical objects from each mod as the same, so they will stack together, and if a quest makes use of the item, then it won't matter which mod the items come from.
Also with this ESP, the wells added by BC to each city can be used as a source of drinking water if you use the survival parts of Cobl.

Optional - Better Cities - House Price Patch.esp

Requires Enhanced Economy.esp from Enhanced Economy – the game will not even start otherwise.
This is an integration file, not a patch, and is NOT required if you use Enhanced Economy. With this ESP, the cost of purchasing the Bravil Riverside Shack will increase to match the pricing scale of the five different “Enhanced Economy - House prices.esp`” which come with Enhanced Economy. If you are not using any of the House prices ESPs from Enhanced Economy, this integration file will not change anything in your game.

Optional - Better Cities - MOBS.esp

This is an integration file, not a patch, and is NOT required if you use MOBS. With this ESP, BC weapons will have their stats adjusted to fit with the changes made by MOBS to weapons from the original game.

This is an integration file, not a patch, and is NOT required if you use Storms & Sound. With this ESP, all BC interiors will reflect the sounds of storms outside.

Requires TIE.esp from Tamriel Immersion Experience.
This is an integration file, not a patch, and is NOT required if you use TIE. TIE marks various locations to interiors from the original game where if the player enters them, an NPC nearby will complain and ask you to move away (the same as when you trespass, but instead of affecting the entire interior, it might affect just the area behind the counter in a shop). This ESP marks similar locations to interiors from BC.

Requires the resources from the mod Against the Zealots of the Nine.

This is a replacer file, not a patch, and should only be installed if you are already using, or wish to install the mod Against the Zealots of the Nine, which makes edits in Cheydinhal which conflict with BC. This replacer file relocates the house which was added inside Cheydinhal to a location just outside Cheydinhal, south of the city west gate.

This is a replacer file, not a patch, and should only be installed if you are already using, or wish to install the mod Clocks of Cyrodiil, which makes edits to every city and every IC District, most of which conflict with BC. The newly located clocks are also positioned so that they still look right even when BC is not used, and also works with Open Cities: Outer Districts.

This is a replacer file, not a patch, and should only be installed if you are already using, or wish to install the mod The Mysteries of the Dulan Cult, which makes edits to the IC Market District which conflict with BC. This replacer file moves conflicting objects so that they no longer conflict. As the original mod contains some game-breaking bugs and our version fixes these bugs, it is recommended to use our replacer even if you are not using any part of BC which conflicts.

Considering adding a global messages to recommend installing plugins that are essential for stability and performance.

EngineBugFixes

An OBSE plugin containing bug fixes for the Oblivion game engine.

OBL Mod Limit Fix

This plugin fixes the Oblivion mod limit bug. It allows a maximum of 255 plugins to be loaded.
The game has a hard coded limit of 512 maximum file handles that could be opened at once. This fix simply bumps that up to 2048 to allow for more room for file handles. I picked 2048 because it is the maximum number that Windows usually allows and the more the merrier.

SkyBSA

An OBSE DLL that forces Oblivion to handle BSAs and loose files the same way that Skyrim does. No more mucking around with file timestamps!

FCOM related stuff

Hello everyone.

  1. Fcom convergence should have the tag Actors.AIPackagesForceAdd, but it missing from both LOOT and BOSS. Source. Specifically, check: "Quick Bash Check Guide for Wrye Bash 287" Import Actors: AIPackages - All FCOM mods and UOP checked. Tag FCOM_Convergence.esp with Actors.AIPackagesForceAdd.
  • Add bash tag Actors.AIPackagesForceAdd to FCOM_Convergence.esp.
  1. Request to add TNR - Shivering isles.esp CRC: E04586F3. Note: when used with FCOM, it should be imported in the patch and then deactivated.
  • Remove bash tag NoMerge from TNR - Shivering isles.esp when using FCOM.
  1. Mart's Monster Mod - Additional Enemy NPC Vars.esp The .esp is already there, but inside the extended load order for FCOM it is recommended not to use it. I wonder: is it due to the cpu load, or because you simply shouldn't use it with FCOM? Not all Mart's monster mod plugins can be used.

  2. Fran_Lv30Item_Maltz.esp According to the extended guide, you don't need any patch. And actually it is confirmed even by the FCOM_optionaladdons, where the LV30_item maltz is mentioned having no need for a FCOM patch. But this plugin was released, It's not clear if it is actually needed.

  3. Did anyone check the difference between more wilderness life.esp and more wilderness life no gates.esp? Because for More wilderness life.esp it is suggested cleaning, while it is not for more wilderness life no gates.esp. Note: is it sure that these plugins have to be cleaned? BOSS says ITM are intentional. Who checked they were not? Same can be said for: Mart's monster mod.esm, Mart's city defences.esp, Martigen shivering isles.esp.

  4. Francesco's Creatures and Items Resources.esp is not needed. Note to be added: Remove it, and Francesco's Bsa should be renamed.

LOOT not applying load order changes to Oblivion

I have the retail version, fresh install, and I'm using Oblivion with Mod Organizer. I tried the included LOOT sort option with Mod Organizer and that didn't work and the external LOOT application.

Item interchange - Extraction.esp

This plugin populates the meta-library with materials from the mods you have installed. There is currently only one version of this plugin. Required.

Item interchange - Placement.esp

This plugin places references into the base game and into the mods you have installed that makes them use the II meta-library. There are two versions of this plugin available. This plugin is not required however as there are currently no other mods using the II meta-library if you do not use this you will gain no benefits from installing II.

Item interchange - Placement for FCOM.esp

If you are using FCOM then you should use the alternate placement plugin provided for this mod package.

Item interchange - Placement for Frostcrag.esp

A mod-specific plugin that makes changes to the original Frostcrag only. You should still install the regular or FCOM placement plugin described above. Do not install this plugin if you use any Frostcrag overhaul.

In theory, this is a semi-replacer/patch for the mod Ingredients in Bulk.
Ingredients in Bulk is partially incompatible with II (i.e. certain vendor items won't be in bulk) because of how the two mods work, therefore I have made an option in II to "partially" patch the incompatibilities.

Load Order

Both the extraction and placement plugins are completely reliant on features of Wrye Bash to get their important changes through everything else.

The extraction plugin can load anywhere before the bashed patch, I suggest putting it with other library mods. All placement and option plugins should load immediately before the bashed patch. Option plugins should load after placement plugins.

Bash Patch
  1. Merge Patches: all II esps should be merged.
  2. Import Inventory: all installed II placement plugins should be selected.
  3. Leveled Lists: automatic for all II placement plugins.

Item Interchange plugins come pre-tagged with Wrye Bash tags.
Should you accidentally (or deliberately) change these II will most likely no longer function correctly.
Should this occur, please reset the Bashed tags as follows.
Extraction plugin {{BASH:Merge,Filter}},
placement plugins {{BASH:Merge,Filter,IIM,Invent,Delev}},
the Ingredients in Bulk option file needs {{BASH:Merge,Filter,IIM,Relev}}.

Compatibility

You should NOT use the optional COBL plugin for Tamriel Travellers as this will "double up" items in some lists.

OOO - Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul - Updated

Players should use the Cobl tweak file distributed in Cobl along with II for the best overall experience.

Francescos Creatures and Items

Due to the way Frans implements it's changes in the game world I have declined to attempt modifications of Frans loot tables. II only supports versions of Frans with un-merged files. If you want to get it to work with merged versions of Frans then feel free to make your own placement plugin.

General Load Order for MMM Plugins
  1. Any MMM plugins which add things, such as Creature Addon, Waterlife, etc., need to load before any spawn rate plugin so the leveled list used by the spawn rate plugin gets updated correctly with these new changes.
  2. Plugins Like Looting, Hunting and Crafting, Gems and Gems Dust, Diverse Imperial Armor, etc., need to load after any creature addons so that these changes take effect.
  3. Any MMM plugin that removes things like creatures (no rats, less rats, no spider, etc.), should be loaded before spawn rate plugins so those plugins take effect and change the spawn rate leveled list appropriately.

General Notes

Generally, MMM should always be loaded last in your chain. The main exception is Mighty Magick - this should be loaded after MMM.

Other Notes
  • If you use Hunters 2.0 or Hunters 2.5, de-select it (included in MMM)
  • If you use Creature Continuum, Tag Natural Wildlife, or Creature Alive, de-select it (features of those mods are incorporated into MMM)
  • If you use OOO, you do not need Diverse Imperial Armor / Diverse Creature Skins, it is already included.
  • If you use Beautiful People, or any other mod based on Elaborate Eyes, do not use the 'Races Resized' optional plugin. Update to either Race Balancing Project or COBL Races for better compatibility.
  • If you use onboard sound, the footsteps of nearby creatures may cause stuttering. Use the newest 'Quiet Feet Max' mod, which is compatible with MMM, OOO and others.
Compatibility

To Avoid Issues with Other Mods, Wyre Bash is highly recommended.

MMM is an overhaul, so it makes many changes to factions, some vanilla npcs, enemy npc’s, creatures, and leveled lists. In order to successfully use other mods that affect the same areas, Wrye bash is recommended.

Some creature mods work better than others with MMM. Creature mods that you should avoid in particular are Natural Wildlife, and Creatures Alive, as many of their features have been integrated. In general, it is best to avoid using other creature mods, unless an MMM patch is available for them.

Race mods - If you are going to use Resized Races with other mods that modify races (i.e., Race Balancing Project or Cobl Races), then you must load it before these race plugins and use Wrye Bash. Beautiful People is also compatible (follow the same rule), but RBP or Cobl Races is recommended.

MMM does touch some specific loot lists, but not weapons or armor. If you don't like seeing low-level Bandits dressed in Daedric, you need a loot mod to manage your loot lists. Highly recommended are GS Oblivion Loot Mod, Francescos, and/or OOO; and for more variety in weapons and armor, try Armamentarium Complete or Artifacts.

MMM Gems and Gems Dust, Hunting and Crafting, and Diverse Runeskulls Loot all modify vanilla loot leveled lists, and will interfere with other mods that do the same. Stats and Prices are affected by these plugins as well. Use Wryebash to solve these incompatibilities (Import Stats).

Universitas Arcanorum - Update afters for Better Cities

Compatibility

This mod is an interior mod only (with a few exceptions). Any mod that alters the interior of any of the arcane university will most likely conflict. The degree of conflict may vary greatly.
If its a mod that adds small item to one of the interiors, then it will most likely be visible (albeit floating). JPM's necormancy mod is an example. The Corpse Preparation book is in plain view, it just floats.
Anything larger than that may cause serious problems or issues. The exceptions to this would be the old council chambers (Which is now a common room accessible by all who are in the guild. Some stuff has just been moved around the rooms is all.). The Arch-Mage's quarters also just has a few things moved around or added. A certain quest item that was located in the arch-mages quarters has been moved to the vault. The overall structure has not been altered.
The original mystic archives cell has simply been renamed as the "Public library" and has been given a new librarian and nothing else. (This was done since many mods add stuff to the mystic archives. Tar-Meena has been relocated to the "new" mystic archives).
The exterior of the university has two new buildings added at the entrance wall. Also there are four new doors added around the base of the tower.
The two new buildings and the doors do not conflict with mods such as bananasplits better cities, ImpeREAL city, and midas magic. (In fact they are meant to go together and even though they are not necessary for my mod, I highly recommend you use them in tandem with mine. Midas Magic adds new buildings next to my own and better cities does a fantastic job of renovating the exterior. This is why I have not altered hardly anything in the exterior.)
For this mod to work properly with Better Cities, make sure that my mod loads after the Better Imperial City Esp.

Handling FCOM installations

As it turns out, the big combination overhaul that was responsible for BOSS's existence in the first place would pose a challenge for the new version of BOSS. The main reason is, Mart's Monster Mod and Frans have a very different load order with FCOM and without FCOM - with the flexible load order system BOSSv3 uses, this can be a problem to implement. There's also a ton of conditional messages relating to that overhaul.

I have converted all messages that rely on FCOM Convergence.esm to use FCOMCond instead, so if any new messages need to be added, please use that condition. However, there does need to be a way to handle the varying load order FCOM uses.

This should be handled while in the process of converting the Oblivion masterlist, and would be a prerequisite for issue #1.

KVatch Rebuilt needs "Relations" tag

Kvatch Rebuilt.esp as of version 3.0RC2 needs the "Relations" tag added to its list in LOOT. Without it, people using TIE.esp (which loads before KR) will override the changes KR is making between the player and the city guards.
