FNV Boss Masterlist commit bonanza not converted over to LOOT

On April 05, 06, and 15 of this year, a lot of commits and revisions have been made to the BOSS Fallout NV masterlist. A lot of these commits have not been converted to the LOOT masterlist - although a fair amount of the commits are just mod placements, a significant amount involves Bash Tagging various mods, and other such fixes that require updates in the LOOT masterlist.

The commits should be converted over to the LOOT masterlist as soon as possible.

NVR and NVR-Electro-City Patch cyclic interaction error

I'm using LOOT for my new NV build for the first time; I get an error message during the sort process (NVR- is from New Vegas Restoration)...

ERROR
Failed to sort plugins. Details: Cyclic Interaction detected between plugins "NVR-Strip.esm" and "NVR-Electro-City_Patch.esp". Back cycle: NVR-Electro-City_Patch, NVR-Strip.esm.

Afterward, the sort process apparently stops there. I have absolutely no idea what that means, aside from it not wanting to sort those two...can someone help here, please? Google is no help at all.

Mission Mojave - Ultimate Edition

MMUE & MMUE Plus were both hidden recently, so they'll have to be removed from the masterlist. There are various patches for them & other mods, so it'd be wise to remove references to them as well.

Change license to Creative Commons Zero

I would like to relicense the LOOT masterlists/repositories to be under the Creative Commons Zero license (effectively submit them to the public domain). See loot/loot.github.io#61 for more thoughts on this.

LOOT wont load

Im not new to LOOT at all, ive just never had any problems using it, it wont seem to load for FO:NV as you can see by the debug log, i havent been able to find any fixes for this, if there already is then that would be great if you could point me in that direction. Im using Win10 pro if it helps.

A couple of rules LOOT gets wrong.

  1. A crime against nature must load after Cannibal Reborn. It is noted in the descriptions, and again in-game if you get them in reverse.

  2. A series of Lucky 38 altering mods must be placed in a specific order to work, they complement each other, 2 of the three recommend the others, and there is a specific load order noted and acknowledged by all three authors to get it to work properly.

I cannot find the plugins on Nexus (or anywhere else), though a google search suggests, that those plugins were created over 10 years ago.

I get this message for both Project Nevada - Core.esm and oHUD.esm. I have the current NVSE installed and running correctly, but I use the modded 4GB launcher from the NVSE page rather than the default NVSE launcher.

Wrong plugin filename for FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting - Darker Nights

Concerned plugins:

From what I understand, the Darker Nights optional plugin of FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting has the wrong filename in the Fallout New Vegas masterlist. I've noticed this issue because the optional plugin should be loaded after the main plugin, however this doesn't happen when sorting with LOOT. After investigating the masterlist, I've found the following plugin name which I believe corresponds to the Darker Nights plugin: FNV RWL Darker Nights.esp. However the correct filename should be: FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting - Darker Nights.esp. Inspecting this plugin entry reveals that it has the same priority as the main plugin, but it has the main plugin listed in the after metadata. Thus fixing the filename should fix the problem.

However, I still couldn't get it to work after attempting to fix this myself by: making a local masterlist copy and changing the filenames, and then using this local copy in LOOT. After sorting my plugins with my local masterlist, the Darker Nights plugin had no metadata. The filenames were however an exact match. Using the "live" masterlist, the plugin also showed no metadata in LOOT. Why this doesn't work is beyond me so I've opted to create this issue because I'm not too familiar with LOOT.

Also note that there are in total three references to the plugin that need to be fixed: its own plugin entry, and as inc metadata for FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting - ENB Full.esp and FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting - ENB No DLC.esp.

Metadata fixes

@Sharlikran: You've made a bunch of unnecessary or incorrect additions to the masterlist, and these should be fixed. I already reverted a couple of the trivial commits, but the below also need to be corrected.

cb1b8c7: The group lines here should be removed. RHKGilbertCompanion.esm should be added to the after metadata for one of the MikotoBeauty.esm entries, and the other should be removed (you were right in your comment, but you should have made the necessary change yourself or filed a bug report instead of just adding a comment in the masterlist). The Requires message you added to IntegratedFullDLC.esp should have been a list of the DLC plugins in the plugin's req metadata.

1525bca: The group lines here should be removed. The messages added to DWCNV-CS.esp and Advanced Recon Tech - Fiendish Power Armor.esp should be req and inc data respectively. Also I don't know why you moved the latter.

dc2acb5: The group lines here should be removed.

88ae3f3: The group lines here should be removed, also that comment divider you added for some reason. I don't know why you moved HonestHearts-CaliberX.esm.

0b62ff0: Again, a comment divider to remove. WME - DLCs.esm should have its incompatibilities added to the inc metadata, and nVamp - Core.esm added to its after metadata to take care of the conditional position, and the other entry for it removed. The ELECTRO-CITY - CompletedWorkorders.esm entry you commented out can be removed, although it has conditional placement in the v2 masterlist, I don't see any reason for this.

9670fa3: The group lines here should be removed.

Sorry about all of that, if I'd paid attention to what you were doing then I may have been able to correct you earlier. Also, while we're all guilty of not doing this, it's best practice to split different types of changes into different commits, eg. if you hadn't mixed metadata changes with the group line additions I could have simply reverted all the group line commits.

JSawyer Ultimate.esp should always be loaded after WMIMNV.esp (FNV)

In some circumstances, like when using the WMIMNV.esp as provided by Vivanewvegas.github.io, Loot will by default sort WMIMNV after Jsawyer Ultimate. However, JSawyer Ultimate is an overhaul mod and should definitely override WMIMNV's changes.

Arguably WMIMNV should be in the "Addons and Expansions (Patches)" group like YUP is.

This mod is a direct port of a mod that was flagges as corrupted on Skyrim LE. I guess it was made with TESVSnip. xEdits QAC gives me this messages:

Note: the mod author of the LE mod has said, that those warnings/the corruption message Loot gives you can be ignored, which is not true afaik.

As @RacerBG has suggested, we should inform our users if their xNVSE version is up to date or not. For this we first would need to add the &versionOldX and &versionUpToDateX message anchors to the FNV masterlist, after that we can add the following to the globals section of the masterlist:

xNVSE is updated regularly often, so we likely should check once a month (if not more often) if there is a new version available.

Case in point why this would be a good idea is that there are already popular mods using and requiring the very latest version of xNVSE, e.g. JIP LN NVSE Plugin.

We also should think about if we should recommend to update to xNVSE if the original NVSE is still being used. If we were to use existing message anchors for this message, &obsolete or better &useInstead could be used. Though we also could create a new message anchor, that describes the situation a bit better.

YUP must load after NavmeshOverhaul.esm

Merge duplicate entries

Some plugins have more than one entry (may not be duplicates). This is OK, but it would be neater for them to be merged. I wrote a short Python script to find them, and the following came up for this masterlist:
