capistrano-node-deploy's Issues

After add require in Capfile and deploy error with encoding

Error message

(Backtrace restricted to imported tasks)
cap aborted!NoMethodError: undefined method `instance' for Capistrano::Configuration:Class
Did you mean? instance_of?
(Backtrace restricted to imported tasks)
cap aborted!Encoding::CompatibilityError: incompatible encoding regexp match (Windows-1251 regexp with UTF-8 string)

I think it's because in path to the my local project contains symbols Windows-1251
(sorry for my english if that)

Bump gem version

Dear James,

Can you bump gem version? I very want to use feature from #3 issue.

Many thanks in advance.

FYI - Npm install won't update git style packages

I had some slightly different reqs, but used some of your code as inspiration for deploying Node apps with Capistrano.

In particular, sharing node_modules seemed like a really great idea.

Unfortunately, npm can't (yet) tell when git style dependencies require installation.
https://github.com/isaacs/npm/issues/1727

I had to revert to using a new node_modules each time, which is very sloooooow.

Just wanted to give you the heads up that a shared node_modules isn't a general purpose solution... at least not yet.

Should npm-shrinkwrap.json be optional?

As the title states, if you don't have npm-shrinkwrap.json deploy fails unless I am missing a configuration option.

If it is required for updating the README would be helpful.
