linux-for-pirates's Issues

Drop-Down btn for Table of Contents

Issue Description:

It would be beneficial to make the page look less cluttered by converting the Table of Contents into a dropdown button, allowing users to access it only when needed, thus reducing the overall length of the page

Pandoc - improve monospace formatting

Issue Description:

PanDoc monospace font is really big and goes too far over the page. Need to fix this at some point otherwise the PDF version looks a little odd in places.

Page number and chapter:

Everywhere

Expected result:

Fix monospace font

Additional context:

Nothing exciting.

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We'll do our best to address it as soon as we can.

Yarrrr!

Use automated release

Ahoy matey!

Before ye create a new issue, please make sure to search through the existing issues to see if your problem has already been addressed.

Issue Description:

Can we use automated releases to version the project better? We can use semantic-release from npx

Yarrrr!

Pandoc - get images to display inline where they were

Ahoy matey!

Before ye create a new issue, please make sure to search through the existing issues to see if your problem has already been addressed.

Issue Description:

Pandoc puts all of the images in as a Figure, which isn't what I'm using them for. They should remain where they were.

Page number and chapter:

Anywhere there is art.

Expected result:

Art should be where it is in the Markdown version.

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We'll do our best to address it as soon as we can.

Yarrrr!

Remove author from artwork

Ahoy matey!

Before ye create a new issue, please make sure to search through the existing issues to see if your problem has already been addressed.

Issue Description:

Artwork has author name and this will be written by multiple people so no need for a name.

Page number and chapter:

[Include the page number and chapter where the issue is located]

Expected result:

[Describe what ye expected to happen]

Actual result:

[Describe what actually happened]

Additional context:

[Include any additional information that might be relevant to the issue]

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We'll do our best to address it as soon as we can.

Yarrrr!

Create a README

Ahoy matey!

Before ye create a new issue, please make sure to search through the existing issues to see if your problem has already been addressed.

Issue Description:

Need an actual README for the project now

Page number and chapter:

README.md

Expected result:

Write the README

Actual result:

I procrastinated ๐Ÿ˜…

Additional context:

Yayaya I am Lorde

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We'll do our best to address it as soon as we can.

Suggestion: Add the fields instead of adding the technologies randomly.

Hey Dean, Why don't you deliver the content based on different fields like web development, DevOps, mobile development, etc? If someone wants to learn a specific field then there should be a link to that field.

A question may arise if some content is common in multiple fields then should we write them in all the fields?

Answer: No we should include all the common content in a separate file and link them in the fields that are using them.

What do you think about it? Do you have any idea of managing these technologies in a proper way? I have created a repository for that. You can check it out.

Adding Linux commands

Hello sir, since Linux for Pirates is for learning about the Linux operating system then why doesn't it have anything about the linux commands? Don't you think it would be a good idea to include the linux commands in this repo as well? Please let me know if my suggestion is valid or not.

Broken images

Ahoy matey!

Before ye create a new issue, please make sure to search through the existing issues to see if your problem has already been addressed.

Issue Description:

The last merge broke some images and we need to fix them.

Page number and chapter:

Multiple. Will need to find them and resolve them.

Expected result:

Fix the broken images.

Actual result:

Additional context:

This is a good first issue

Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention. We'll do our best to address it as soon as we can.
