Hi @fgdrf ,
When you say
The typed filter (which may be complex) expression is removed
what exactly do you mean? Do you refer to the fact that the attributeCombo is resetted to the first option (the 'Any' value)?
from udig-platform.
there is a field to enter a filter condition (CQL) and any change event is fired for the featurecollection underneath, the filter field is reset and users have to retype the condition.
My suggestion would be to avoid re-set of the filter field unless type of feature collection has changed.
if the combo is reset to Any I do not remember , I can clarify this. I guess it might be the root of the problem ..

Checking the Table view indeed there is a text box where you can enter a filter condition for an attribute or even a more complex CQL query. However this field retains its value even after slecting another layer or editing the Map. The combo however is always reset to its first item value ('Any') and maybe this is the reason for confusion.
In any case and in order to avoid conflicts, I will provide a possible resolution through a new PR once #293 is accepted.
